Yaz on Cam

Cam has done something to get on the bad side of the media. Yaz clearly feels it's personal. Comparing Cam to a guy he knew who literally walked off the field is a stretch. Putting a towel over your head and being late too meetings isn't comparable to literally quitting during a game.

The only thing Cam has done to piss these folks off is defy their hate for him. They have been making all kinds of false claims and comparison of him since he was in college and he simply rises above it and they hate it.

I keep telling you folks, our media have way to much power and it seems the fans continues to give it to them because they single out certain players and endlessly smear them with character issues they see in players they prefer and don't want to tear down.

You should have known these folks pretend lovefest for Cam wasn't going to last.

I saw this on espn the other day and was kinda shocked. I always thought this dude yaz would never take this sort of angle, I guess I was wrong. Well I guarantee I will never read another one of his articles ever again.

He works for ESPN. I stop taken anyone who is part of the ESPN?NFLN family serious a long time ago.

It was ESPN who started the negative campaign against Cam during college and when he entered the draft. Where were you during the draft?

I hate Jason Whitlock but he made one good point last year.....reporters have a bogus since of entitlement today....

They think bc they show up players have an obligation to answer and do whatever they request. If they don't get what they want they moan and bitch.

Newspapers and reporting in general is crap now IMO. Athletes don't trust any of them anymore. When you watch Cam....you see a 23 yr old kid who knows a room full of people want to find something to use against him. Take part of a comment here or a move here and run with it.

Can't blame him for looking miserable....even on a random Wed after practice. They want a story....they don't want to actually report in the old fashioned meaning of the job

I never really paid that much attention to that until I saw it with how they were treating Culter. It was clear they had no real reason for behaving the way they were expect he hurt their egos by publically stating he doesn't like them. They tried to make excuses for his behavior but you know it was only a matter of time before they went in on him.

Peyton, Brady..all those QBs cannot stand those folks. It does seem as if they take their bruised egos out on players they know they can easily manipulate because they can easily smear their image. And you know these player's image means just as much to them as their ability to play.

Ex-football players, wannabe football players, and wish they were football players now occupy our media today. Their egos and testosterone levels are through the roof. Have you ever listened to them? Some of them simply cannot hide their jealous of certain players.

Cam has done something to get on the bad side of the media.

The Media has always had it out for Cam.

This isnt anything new, they were butthurt last year when he was the total opposite of a bust and 95% of the "professional" sports writers had to eat crow.

So now they see a ***** in his armor and are going to do everything they can to deminish him just so they can go back to their fanasty land where they are never wrong and the only Qbs that are worth a damn are the one playing for major franchises.

Edited out Ch!nk? Really?

Smh.....

I don't really understand the problem you guys with this article? Articles are written every day on where young QBs need to improve. Some need to improve in going through their progressions, some need to improve in understanding the pace of the game, and some need to improve upon dealing with the stresses of being the face of an NFL franchise.

I don't know of anyone who thinks Cam has handled himself like a franchise quarterback thus far. Sure, he is young and competitive. I get that. He definitely needs to work on it though. From what I read, it doesn't appear Yaz was attacking Cam at all. In fact, he seemed to praise Cam's tremendous ability, while also saying what Cam needs to work on to reach his full potential.

But out on the field, you never see Brees let his emotions get the best of him. BS Ive seen him flip out many times. Jake Delhomme had a visible competitive edge about him but never freaked out when things didn’t go well. BS! Jake threw alot of temper tantrums failing arms around and complaining to refs. In fact, Delhomme was at his best when things got tight. (This was true until playoffs 08)

They're saying Cam needs to work on his professional demeanor and then there's what Yas did. He called him childish, said he acts like he's 12, said he needs to grow up and repeatedly referred to his demeanor when he's pissed off about losing as "pouting", said most of the blame for our 1-3 record falls on Cam, and all of those things are gross exaggerations.

Cam's attitude when he's pissed off about losing isn't pouting. Pouting is throwing a tantrum when you don't get your way, or being petulant when you don't get your way. Cam doesn't hide his emotions well, but that isn't pouting. Sounds to me like Yas is the one pouting about something...

This comment amazes me

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that Newton has been working with a life coach to help deal with the pressure. Newton denied that report. But maybe Newton should be letting his feelings out privately to someone.

Seriously who is the media to tell someone how they handle thier feelings, the media isnt Newton's mother damn.

Yaz and all the other so-called media should spend a lot less time on a 23 year old's perceived demeanor on the sidelines and lot more time talking about the violence of more than a few NFL players off the field along with how to stop the injuries that are killing them.

One topic is easier than the other and one puts the focus on the NFL and not one player.

Newton will do has he does. It will work for the Panthers or it wont and in the Not For Long League, if the Panthers don't win the business side will handle it.

Having a player in the NFL who beat up on his Mother a few weeks ago to me is a much larger problem.

IMHO.

You're using purely semantical arguments. My definition of pouting is exactly what Cam does. Being upset and off-putting when things don't go your way. So, that falls right in line.

Yas said most of the blame falls on Cam, but that it's partly just because he is the QB. He's talking about the national media and fans blaming Cam, whether it be warranted or unwarranted.
