Trailer and poster were shown at this year's Comic-Con. Have been trying like crazy to find the video online. No luck. Only descriptions and fan-mades.

Gareth Edwards' 'Godzilla' remake trailer attacks San Diego

The trailer begins with a scene of a city completely destroyed with wreckage everywhere. Cars are crushed. Buildings are decimated. The dead body of a giant centipede-like creature is seen smoldering.

An ominous voiceover quotes physicist Robert Oppenheimer's remarks about the atomic bomb: "We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'"

And then we hear the roar, and Godzilla's face appears.

Goose. Bumps.

Edwards tells the crowd that he doesn't think of "Godzilla" as a sci-fi movie because it's very real. And like the original, he isn't going for camp on any level with this remake

Yes it's old news, but it's new to me. And if they actually get it right this time, I'll be in nerd heaven :D

More than a half dozen movies represented in there: The Broderick version (now known as "Zilla" by the Japanese who won't acknowledge it as a legit Godzilla), Clash of the Titans, Cloverfield, 2012, Battle: Los Angeles, I Am Legend, Poseiden, maybe one of the Transformers flicks and I think one clip might have been from The Perfect Storm. All mashed together and slapped with the right logos.

People try way too hard making these fake trailers. For what? Hits on YouTube? I don't get the appeal.

Most badass thing I've seen on YouTube of late was Thomas Jane's "Dirty Laundry".

If anyone has video of the Comic Con clip, they haven't posted it. Since it aired in July, I'm guessing no one has it.
