Cam Newton - "I'm A Football Player" WTF

you draft newton because he's a true dual threat and a game changer because of that.

you put him in a box by forcing him to stay in the pocket and you have wasted half of his talent and you have crippled your chances of becoming as successful as you could be with him.

stupid move, imo.

If you look at the entire league in a 20 game window....

Carolina has 2 things thanks to their infant QB

1. Best rushing attack

2. Most explosive offense

Yet we need to be more traditional?

What we need to do is not worry about Cam. We need to worry about not giving him a D/ST NOW.

Newton's most dangerous years will be while is still a monster on the ground. The delay in giving him help will be costly. A 5 yr vet version I think will be more dangerous than a 10 yr version

The main problem is this college offense we run 50% of the time. Cam's a running threat whether you have those plays in there or not. So if the only reason we got them in there is to provide the threat of Cam running the ball, these plays are a major waste of time. They hurt more than they help.

I'm puzzled, Andrew Luck is pretty much a dual threat QB. He's not Cam, but he is close. I seen this guy lay out a couple of cats in college, and even forced a fumble while knocking a guy out. Yet I don't see the Colts running the bogus wildcat/read option plays. Why is that? You see this brings up an interesting question altogether. If Cam was white, would we be seeing these packages for 50% of our offensive playcalling? Or would we be running the full pro style offense, with these packages every blue moon to mix things up?

So...in the 20 games of the Newton era you deem the college offense that has given us the best ground attack and most explosive offense during that 20 game stretch.....is the problem.

I'll disagree and go defense and ST is the issue.
