Perspective on Cam: Numbers compared to last year

Cam is still holding the ball too long and doesnt see the check down fast enough.

i think that is a product of the type of offense we are running and his desire to make a big play. we arent a possession offense like the falcons, we are a more explosive big play offense that attacks in big chunks. a lot of times i see him holding on to the ball looking for steve smith to get open.

i still think we need one more speed/explosive wr on this team.

holding onto the ball too long is holding onto the ball too long. it doesn't matter what kind of offense is being run or how much desire he has to create highlight reel material.

qb are taught they only have 3 second tops to get rid of the ball for a reason.

thats true. but no qb throws 3 secs all the time. sometimes you will have to pull the ball down and pump or wait for a bigger play to develop. the good qbs stand and deliver in the pocket.

I blame some of his interceptions on poo play calling and playing from behind. When the team is so terrible that they put cam in a position where he HAS to make big plays on 3rd and longs for us to have any chance at winning, you are basically asking him to make bad throws. His numbers would be a lot better if our coaches weren't so incompetent. it also doesn't help that we only have one receiver capable of getting open against good defenses.

Theyre getting takeaways and sacks but are still soft as hell and give up 30 a game. Did you see what Roddy White said about our D during the game on NFLN sound fx? Dude was telling Turner "theyre soft, their d backs are scared". Nobody we face doesnt feel like they cant get off on us. I mean we made Josh Freeman look decent. Lol.

Thats why the majority of his picks come in the 2nd half. He's forcing throws to make things happen. Each week he's playing against the other team and his own defense.

i can understand trying to make something happen when the game is starting to get out of reach...but both interceptions in the tampa bay game came in the third quarter when the score was 7-13.

the game was still well within reach. the defense did it's job. the offense threw the game away...literally.

the first interception was thrown to lafell...in triple coverage.

the second interception was the equivilant of a last second game deciding hail mary pass to a steve smith who had double coverage...even tho there was still a full quarter to play.

Nosuchthingasapanther is clearly not a fan of our QB. Whatever floats your boat.

We can argue about INT's all day. My question is are the coaches each game putting Cam and the offense in a position to win. We have an OC who sits up in the booth eating cheetohs and has no faith in our RB's when it counts. Why do we pay them all this money?

what i'm not a fan of is people making statements that are not true because they don't want to get all butt hurt about their favorite player.

all i did was correct someone who said all of cam's numbers outside of passing yards were improving. that's the only reason why i mentioned interceptions.

so now that it's obvious he is pacing to have more interceptions than last season...it's not his fault?

despite what position he is put in, he is ultimately responsible for what happens to that football when it is in his hands.

those intereptions can easily be incompletes if he simply throws them away.

if his name was jake delhomme, he'd be tied to a stake and set on fire.
