I can't he was a backup to Ed Reed and really only saw action on special teams which is why he was brought here and he beat out Martin in training camp for the starting job.

Stop making excuses for Martin he sucks and is afraid to try and tackle, Nakamura might suck too but at least he tries to tackle.

FS aren't the guys you need to be good tacklers.....

They need coverage and ballhawking ability....Martin has the ability.

I suspect that a GM who could give up a #2 for Armanti Edwards might have been capable of moving up in the draft to find a serviceable safety.

Zod is a better tackler than either one of them. We've atleast seen him make a play.

there is no way that Martin is worse that Nakamura. I have watched plenty of games with sherrod and while he isnt that great, he is a much better player than nakamura. this has hurney written all over it. he never mans up to his mistakes.

There is a thing called the draft. Mark Barron was #1 on our board.....we shouldn't of stayed away from the position just bc he was drafted. Should of been aggressive and made a move for one in the 2nd or 3rd.

In this particular game, I don't see any reason to change. Wilson has the 2nd lowest yards per attempt in the league. This will be about stopping the run and Nakaruma gives us a the better chance in that department.

Ed Reed misses tackles left and right....

He isn't paid to tackle, the other defenders are. Yeah, Martin needs to work on his tackling. No excuse for being terrible. More effort than anything ....but you pay your FS for his coverage ability.

I would have loved for Barron to fall to us but he didn't and we had other holes to fill without giving up draft picks to move up.

did you watch the colts game last season? sherrod martin looked like a kicker trying to tackle reggie wayne. in fact, he sucked pretty much all of last year.

the only thing martin is probably better than than naka at is ball skills. and even then, martin's picks that i remember are ducks or tipped passes. not coverage interceptions.

You do not know football. The free safety's number 1 responsibility is coverage above all else. If he can't tackle well, that should be ok as long as he's solid in coverage. The strong safety's responsibility is mostly tackling but should have the ability to cover.
