Jordan Gross has had a bad rap in this joint for far to long.

He improved a lot last year. Plus the fact that Delhomme never throws the ball away. I'm very optimistic about this line this year and Delhomme with the new quarterback coach.

Jordan Gross also had a bunch of false starts, those can serve as drive killers just as easily as a sack for a run first team.

I don't think he has a bad rap though, who doesn't like Gross?

Sacks surrendered are only a small measure of the total picture. Quarterbacks who throw the ball quickly like Manning and Brees have linemen with few sacks but it may not signify how great they are. In our system run blocking is the biggest skill and guys like Otah may surrender a few sacks but blow away guys in the run game which more than makes up for his deficits. The same with Wharton and Gross IMO. For example we picked up Otah for the run game. We knew Clady was a very good pass blocker but against the run not so much.

if Duke Robinson can have a good training camp I see him starting by at least midway through the season at RG over Vincent. He was a 3 year starter at Oklahoma and was very durable.

Imagine the right side with him and Otah to run behind. I know one think Orakpo would be on his ass all day looking up at 700+ pounds of right O-line runnin him over all day.

Nothin against Vincent I think Duke starts and Vincent provides great depth at the guard spot.

Otah was also hurt the 1st few games. From the middle of the season on he was an absolute beast, and made very few mistakes

A lot of that is a product of being moved so much. Only the last couple of years has he been allowed to mature at one position, before that they moved him every year from one side to the other, at times in the middle of the season. He's proven to be solid now and is due the credit. I actually say he's rank too low here...

Injured or not it is pretty common knowledge that most rookie linemen get abused for the first half dozen games and really get going the second half of the year. Otah was pretty good all along. Guys like Clady are the exception not the rule.
