True, but they had the benefit of a three possession lead early on, a lead that kept rising. Because of that we only rushed 20 times, and a few of those were undesigned Newton scrambles.

With such a lead, I don't see Stewart getting more carries, and thus no big effect in his presence. Had that game been close, I wouldn't doubt we'd be running well on them.

Seriously. You need 1 yard to get the first down and win the game. 1 stupid yard. Your up against the 29th ranked run defense. Your team is desperate for a win, their ready to pound it in... Instead, you punt and count on the 22nd ranked pass defense to stop the 11th best passing offense, in their own stadium with the crowd behind them. GENIUS!!!

The 2 games Stewart was out, Chud went full retard. I call it more of Chud trying to be too cute than Stewart being an MVP.

It's very obvious that Chud is handcuffed in his play calling abilities when J Stew is not on the field. Stewart's stat line doesn't necessarily jump off the page especially in this last game, but his mere presence on the field commands respect from opposing defenses. His pass blocking skills are impeccable. You can literally create a gif from every game of him making an impact block.

people don't understand. it's his versatility.

his rushing, pass protection and receiving skills all need to be accounted for. it's a guessing game for a defense when he's on the field.

put any other rb on the roster in the backfield, and opposing defenses can pin their ears back and go for broke.

Rivera talked about Stewart on his weekly Sirius appearance......the read option only has a threat of the inside read runs with Stewart.....per Rivera. THAT threat changes how a defensive front plays. We saw that when Stewart was out. They only worry about outside options which lets the defensive front t off more. They can rush the passer all out bc the runs are also going where the DEs want to penetrate if it was a pass.

That inside threat keeps a D from being from attacking all out from start to finish. opens up more for the O.
