With 1:49 left in the 2nd and 3 timeouts...

The panthers walked out onto the field looking like they didn't know what a 2min offense was. We used our first time out with 35 seconds left after only gaining 20 yards. Even the anoucers were asking wtf Ron Rivera was thinking. I believe the same thing happened last year against the Saints*. I still am wondering what our plan was. Do we not have a 2min offense in place? I just watched the Cowboys with under 2 minutes drive down the field and end the half with a TD when they were down 10-0.

With everything that happened at the end of the game, nothing to me was as bad as this display of terrible coaching and poor play calling.

It didn't seem they managed the clock well in that situation. In that situation you have two objectives, though. Most importantly you can't give the ball back to the other team - no turnovers or quick three and outs. The other goal is to score.

Had the Panthers offense been more productive on the drive, things would've worked out differently. Still, seems they could've had a couple more plays with better time management.

A field goal would've been a huge bonus. Though given that scenario, I imagine Nakamura would've then been beat for a 100yd bomb instead of a 60yd bomb.

It was obvious we were not trying to score after they did not call any timeouts. Unless after only getting 20 yards in a little over a mintue, we somehow thought we could get 40 in 30 seconds. Ron was either running the clock out or just coaching terribly.

Panthers got the ball after the half. If we score before going into the half we would have come out with the momentum and possibly scored again. Instead we let let the clock run out and came out on our next drive only to punt it away to ATL and watch Turner take it 60yds to the house.

It takes forever for us to move the ball across the field. We hardly throw it deep anymore.. Cam was throwing beautiful deep passes his rookie year.

This post couldn't be any more wrong. Cam is near the top of the league in passes over 20 yards.

Maybe he learns from this.

Next game we get the ball in the 1st half with about 2 minutes to go...I want to see something different than what I saw this weekend.

He did it last year and he is still doing it this year. How long does it take to learn clock management. He is a damn head coach in the NFL.

I was talking about what this thread is about. 1:49 LEFT IN THE 2nd and 3 TIMEOUTS. Cam has made plenty of good throws so far but when it comes close to half time or the end of the game, our play calling is conservative, e.g., against the Bucs we had the ball with 2:55 before the half, started at our 20 and it took us 2:40 to call 8 plays, which ended in a punt. Against the falcons we had the ball with 1:49 left and was only able to call 7 plays that went for 24 yards. My post is not wrong. It takes us forever to move the ball when we are playing against the clock. We seemed better at this during his rookie year.

I am fuking pissed 2. Richardson/Hurney won't fire a 2nd year coach tho. Hope he learns quick. He looks like a dumass to me right now.
