A Fair Look At Cam...

I don't care that he does his pre-planned, lame, celebrations. I don't care if he needs to mature or will mature. What I do care about is that it is a distraction. Media is eating it up. Yet not one coach has told him to stop. All it would take is Rivera telling him not to dance/pose next week against the Seachickens and he won't do it. Control the distractions, Ron. When you get better, there will be all the TD time in the world to A-Town Stomp and flutter capes from behind.

I know I am in the minority, but I feel Cam's few mistakes (fumble, not hurrying up and failing to run the play before a review flag is thrown) and his corny touchdown celebrations stem from the same thing... immaturity.

Good news is time will most likely fix the issue.

I know this is your opinion but what issues does Cam have that need fixing outside of the over criticizing that the media seem to enjoy doing with him? I find it funny how everyon is making so much out of what Cam did and is adding their two cent after the fact but not one of you seem outraged by the fact that your Receiver actually gave the win to Falcon when he fumbled his ball. How is anyone suppose to take fans seriously with such selective view of their players. Are your opinion of Cam swayed by what others are saying? Are you ashamed of him because he's not a media darling and is always under the constant scrutiny of the media for no real reason?

I see 32 teams with 32 QBs who are human beings and move to the beat of their own drums. Why can't Cam be Cam? Where is the blue-print of a mature QB?\

I know I get mocked for defending Cam here but none of you have given any real reason for your constant criticism of Cam except it's what you see others doing and it's easy.

So you are so shallow that you want you're QBs freedom to be removed because those in the media want to exercise their authority on him for no apparent reason?

You're team must be winning games because your priority for this team is extremely wacked. Instead of being concerned about your team going out and establishing themselves as a legit team, you're more concerned about the media trying to control your QB for no reason. Why to defend his rights when everyone else is allowed to exercise theirs.

I worry that we are not the right environment to "fix" Cams immaturity. We need strong leadership on the sideline which I do not think we have seen consistently from our current group of coaches. If he was on an established franchise with a proven track record of developing young players I would pencil him in for the hall of fame. But I think if anyone can ruin Cam it's us.

Again I ask, except for the media claiming he is by spining everything he does into something negative, what is so immature about Cam? And since when did NFL become charm school?

IMO, the only reason you folks are making all these unfounded claims about Cam's maturity is because of the media.

Football is a darn sport. Is Cam not showing up to practices? Is he not doing his part as a QB? What is so immature about him celebrating a victory with his teammate when he gets a td or putting a towel over his head when he's on the sidelines?

It seems you folks are quite selfish...You enjoy the attention Cam brings to your team but is quick to want to fix every little thing about him simply because those who were at one point were drug users, womanizers, and spoilt brats, sit and find all types of fault with him for no reason.

Its obvious he mentally prepares himself for his touchdown celebrations, probably even practices them.

Might be time better spent figuring out some of the important small nuances of the game, such as hurry up and even spike the ball if you have to on an obvious blown call on a 3rd down that went your way.

My policy on preplanned dances or other corny celebrations is the same across the board for all players.

Its busch league.

I am all for congratulating team mates, handing the balls to fans, etc. But practicing a lame dance to do when you score is not something a grown man and a professional should be doing. I agree with Barry Sanders, act like you have been there before. Otherwise the rest of us are wondering why is it that big of a deal when you do your job.

it probably took him 15-20 min at the most on his spare time to practice that and hes 23 years old, we all know hes not going to be like this forever, give him a break... yeah he fumbled and yeah he messed up on the blown call, but have you noticed every time in that game we seemed down and out he brought us back within striking distance?? he'll learn those nuances within time, and he'll learn how to manage his coaching but his celebration or work ethic is not what his keeping him from perfecting his craft, and did NOT affect the outcome of the game whatsoever so i dont know why people are going nut over every celebration he does?! what's keeping him is his general lack of experience and (possibly, not surely IMO) the coaching. people need to relax.

I miss the 2005 season when celebrations were popular. Cam would've had a field day playing back then with Smitty.

It was a little flashy but the Supercam is his trademark. Just like when Aaron Rodgers does the touchdown belt.

End Zone Dancing = an important freedom?

Interesting.

He is 23 years old starting in the most difficult position in pro sports. I am also 23 and do stupid poo all the time. Give the kid, because thats what he is, a friggin break. Give him time to mature.

If you do something stupid at your job does it get corrected?
