Just by going for it on fourth down, the Panthers had an 83.5 percent win possibility.

By choosing to punt, the Panthers decreased their win probability by 26.1 percentage points.

I dont know why people are acting like this is Rivera's fault. Out of all the dumb $hit Rivera has done, punting the ball was the smartest and correct choice. Nortman even helped us by punting it to the 1yd.

The reason why he should be blame is how he couldn't gather he defense up and stop Atlanta from driving that long to kick a damn FG in a min with no time outs.

Even Dungy said it was the right choice and I would think all the other great coaches in the league would've punt it also.

Now say if we went on 4th and didn't convert it, the huddle and I would've broke loose over a dumb move.

I don't fault Ron for the 4th down call. Yes, you SHOULD make a first down if you run it, but if you don't, with our defense, we have ZERO chance of keeping Atlanta out of FG range.

Ron deserves blame for clock mismanagement at the end of the first half.

This is a roster problem. Ron told the front office he was not going to play Martin, so better get rid of him. They didn't, and the guy they signed can't play, but Ron has no confidence in Martin either. Same thing he told Hurney about McClain and Fua. Ron doesn't much like Godfrey either, but he isn't going anywhere with that contract. Sitting Adams is a statement to Hurney that he doesn't want one-trick ponies on the roster who can't even do the damn one trick right. Adams is never going to be anything but just a return man and roster spots are too precious to waste on a guy like that who isn't dominant.

He'll sit Beason if his poor play continues or if he can't get healthy. Ron is not like Fox with undying loyalty to veterans. He'll give them a reasonable chance, but if they're a liability, they sit.
