For Panthers defensive end

Charles Johnsonicon-article-link.gif, playing in the Georgia Dome makes him feel like he's back in high school.

Johnson played like the big man on campus Sunday, only to have the Atlanta Falcons rain on his homecoming parade in the final seconds.

"It's hard when you put so much work in like we did but don't finish," Johnson said. "It was very disappointing. We did some good things out there."

Johnson set a single-game franchise record with 3.5 sacks, half of the team's record-tying seven sacks. But when Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan heaved a pass deep to Roddy White in the final minute to set up the game-winning field goal, Johnson was reduced to a spectator with a really poor seat.

He's been criticized a lot. His performance was a loud response.

Even through three game he has given more effort and affected his side of the field more than Eppers ever did the last 4 years in Carolina.

The greif that some give him for getting a contract is just plain stupid. He truly get double and triple teamed and Peppers got blocked by back up tight ends.

Congrats to him and Frank Alexander and Hardy for having teeing off on Ryan most the game.

Charles Johnson worked his assignment yesterday and was effective in the outcome of the game. I would love to see A. Smith (36) back on the field to help with the run. D. Williams showed improvement and it was obvious Stewart is not 100%. I know Beason is a great player, but I was not too impressed with his blocking techniques yesterday. Will somebody please explain why it takes five of our guys to stop runners like Turner? In spike of everything, hate we didn't get the win. Love my Panther!!!!! B)

Right now I would rather see Frank start. The guy just has a motor that Hardy does not.

I'm still worried about his ability to contain the run. If he can fix that to a respectable part of his game, I'm not adverse to starting Alexander over Hardy. I saw a few times yesterday where he took himself out of the play. If he can self-discipline, I say go for it.
