Is LaFell Dat Deal?

More worried about Murphy. With the amount of time Cam is taking in the pocket he should be able to take the top off of these defenses more effectively then he has been. Can only hope Gettis can do that but once you hurt your knee you have to work twice as hard as you ever did to get back to where you were and I don't know if he did that.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I am concerened with Murphy, but I don't know if it's more Murphy, or the coaches lack of creativity. The same can be said of Baridge in my mind.

LaFell is the disappearing man. You mean out of the 53 men we put onthe football field HE is THE disappearing guy?

eat a d!ck

I am not blaming LaFell for all the team's failings, moron. I realize that the team has many needs to fill. LaFell isn't on an island by himself when it comes to shortcomings of the team. The thing is is that LaFell was supposed to fill the need of consistently pulling pressure away from Smitty and/or making some catches that impact the game. Like it or not, there are greater expectations for LaFell as a third year vet opposite Smitty to meet the demands of his position, and with expectations come responsibility, and, ultimately scrutiny and accountability. Hopefully LaFell will morph into that guy, but so far, with 25 percent of the season over, LaFell looks like the same LaFell that we have always known (which is not necessarily bad, because he does fill a role, just not the expanded role that many would like thus far).

"Eat a d!ck"? Really, dude? Stop being lame and show some maturity.

He's a useful player, but he's clearly not a high level #2 receiver. He can be completely taken out of the game by effective defense. Life is going to get really dark for us when Smitty retires. He's the only guy who can get open against tough coverage, and we've proven ourselves to be the worst team in the NFL at drafting and developing receivers.

Ok. In my perspective he isn't seen as much as you would like at first thought, but he has already made some very much needed catches this year (and last year). The first two games of the season I think he had good games. The Giants game was awful from our whole team. Not giving him a pass necessarily, but I don't like pointing a finger at one guy for that. He was a no show yesterday; maybe you can point the finger at him and say that he should have stepped up, but all receivers have games that hey disappear. I think we just have plenty of targets

I don't think LaFell should be targeted over Smitty or Olsen. Right now Lafell is 3rd in receptions (tied with Tolbert), 3rd in receiving yards, and one of four to have a receiving TD on this team. I think Cam also likes to make Stew a target when he plays. So stat wise I think he is where he should be.

Even if he isn't coming up with the catches his presence matters. Maybe he is drawing off people so that Smitty and Olsen get their catches? I haven't rewatched the games for this, but it wouldn't surprise me. If he is being taken care of by one defender I think that is a problem. If not then his statline won't matter; he is affecting the play. Also his blocking really helps; people have mentioned this.
