Giants Down By 3, Last Play of 3rd Quarter, Just on Opponents' Side of the Field, 4th and 1...

Completely different situation. Giants were down. They were also past midfield.

Panthers were up. We were just about on midfield IIRC. Falcons only needed 3 points to win.

Not saying we shouldn't have gone for it. I guess we underestimated our defenses suckiness. But I doubt Coughlin goes for it if he was in Rivera's shoes. Situations really aren't comparable.

We were at the 45 and IMO it really wasn't that different of a situation. I think the other big thing is both us and the Giants were on the road. I think you're more inclined to go for it on 4th and 1 late there, or at least should be in order to end it. The point remains the same because either way, if you go conservative, you're hoping your defense holds and doesn't give up any points. If the Giants fail there, Eagles get the ball with outstanding field position and a chance to go up 2 scores with only a quarter to go.

Belichick also isn't afraid to try to win a game. Doesn't always work.....but when you can end a game. End a game. 1 yard on the road....go get it

This.

LOL at all of you that are pissed we didn't go for it. If they stop us there they have the ball at midfield... Think we would have stopped them???? Cause we sure as hell couldn't stop them from their own 1 yd line.

What's truely "LOL" is that you just proved why we SHOULD have went for it...

LOL indeed.

Yeah, you answered your own question. It didn't matter. Only way you stop them is by not giving them the ball back.

We would have had a better chance of scoring a touchdown than stopping them from getting a field goal.

Giants.....championship-level team.

Panthers.....team led by owner more concerned about league than product on field.

Now the Gaints are championship-level team.

Many on here felt this team was better than them because of the media hype.

FYI, any team can be beaten on any given Sunday. You just need a coach who isn't afraid to take the heat and takes changes and a team who play their role and not leave everything up to their QB.

This is what bothers me. Any other team and the media would have been questioning the decision of the coach. But it's the Panthers so let's blame the QB because he fumbled and recover his ball.

You know how that must have messed up the mojo of his team...SMDH I can't believe how soft this team is but it's Cam the media rather go after at every turn because they want another Vince Young. You the media loves to repeat their accomplishments.
