Saw what Newton was made of today

Recommended Posts

Everybody is saying that we recovered the ball. We know that but Cam had the first down before the fumble. Even with the play calling being sh***y you always ALWAYS protect the ball as a player. The difference between the fumble is first down ATL no timeouts 1:41 left of the clock and take some kneels.

I like your post NCScout, but to be fair, no QB has mastered WINNING in the NFL by the 2nd year save Big Ben. It takes time and experience.

While Rapeburger played well early in his career the Steelers defense was totally out of this world as well. This helps the confidence of the offense tremendously.

Newton played overall a great game.

Today was like many last year....give him a middle of the road D and most of his losses would be wins.

Cam had a decent game today. He was still barely over 50% in completions and fumbled with the game on the line.

He was not the reason we lost but he does deserve some if the blame.

This was a team and coaching effort in the loss.

Defense mad some great plays....7 Sacks and an int. yet, they blew some coverages.

Offense made some plays and did not throw an int. yet, they short yardage running game was underwhelming and Cam did fumble when the game would have been over.

Rivera made the right call on the punt, but the last series if the first half was a comple clusterfug.

And plus we all know ATL is going to get there points but I think our defense played at B-. They had picks had good three and outs when we needed them. Our defense did what they were supposed to do when they had to do it til the Nakumura screw up at the end. Atlanta is a great offense with great talent.

Maybe if your fugging team wasn't so damn pathetic you wouldn't be expecting your QB to be mistake free every damn game. Wake UP...Cam isn't your team's issue.

Your team does not know how to recover from bad plays. You expect your QB to play mistake free games and that isn't realistic.

Maybe if you aren't such an idiot, you wouldn't make such idiotic posts. Just a thought

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
