The Official Nakamura Sucks D**k Thread...

I said it in TC and I'll say it now. I didn't think Naka won the job in TC at all. In all honesty I thought Sherrod was better then him all thru TC. For some odd reason he was just given the job. They said he was suppose to be a better tackler then Sherrod. I'm sorry I don't see much of a difference. And for dam sure he isn't better in coverage. If Rivera doesn't make this change. It's time for us to question him as a HC.

Nice pick early in the game, but he cancelled out the positive benefits of that by looking totally lost/outmatched for most of the rest of the game.

Let's put Martin back in and see what he can do.

You know, I'm reminded of when Sherrod Martin got that INT to help seal the win against the pathetic Colts last year, and he was getting some praise. It's that lipstick on a pig thing, you're going to get the occasional INT as a safety, but that didn't even come close to negating the piss poor tackling and mental lapses in coverage.

On that last drive, Norman was even coming over looking like he was about to swat the ball away but Nakamura was in his way. So not only did he not make the play himself but he prevented another guy from making the play... I've seen him do that a few times this year...seriously Martin might not be able to tackle to save his life but he's got to be better than Nakamura.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Nakamura is starting is because he's "more vocal" in the backfield. The only thing I recall being said about him in TC was that he was a better communicator.

So where's all the dudes now who wanted him to start...just saying, Martin wasn't a great tackler but his ball instincts are better....I don't see why we don't swap them for run and passing situations. All of the big gains were against Norman's and Nakamura's side of the field. I feel like Nakamura was being singled out by ATL. While he had the one INT (on a short field) he was picked on all day along with Norman, who I thought did a decent job.

Yes he made a terrible play on the ball at the end if the game. But the fact that he was matched up on White on the first TD play was not as much his fault. A safety on White is a major advantage to White.

It was three deep zone, he wasn't ASSIGNED to White, he ran into Nakamura's deep middle zoned and continued to own him. Naka has been the deep Middle 1/3, 1/2 he hasn't played up at all in man this season on a WR b/c he can't cover.

he made two outstanding plays, the pick and the knock-down.....he also had two awful plays: the touchdown to Rodney White and that deep ball

Tough to blame him solely, Norman could have played his man better, unfortunately that was such an easy pick/knock down for a safety its hard to forgive that

Spend a high round pick on a safety next year, this class is loaded at safety

Edit: Also there is a chance Sherrod isn't even in position to make a play on the ball- just saying

I cut Naka in my Madden Online league...took the 1.2 mil cap hit and all (and this was during the pre-season). One player the Madden player raters got right, he's trash on Madden, and has been bad all season. He may be a good "special teams" tackler bringing down guys his own size 5'10 190-200....but in all our games especially vs Brown NYG, and most recently Turner, he's offered very little support, or tackling vs the run which was supposed to be his niche.

He sucks, but why are we relying on him so heavily? We are basically asking teams to score TDs on us. Our coaches have done a terrible job of putting players and the team in a position to succeed. He is simply not physically capable of doing what we are asking him to do. That's on the coaches and GM, not Nakamura. Our team is run by amateurs.
