Ive never lived anywhere that had bridge schedules for openings and maintenance as ill thought as those in Wilmington. Didnt the fools painting the CFMB take like a year and a half logner to paint it than they were supposed to? Who the hell is in charge of that poo?

I'm from the mountains and I've never seen a worse DOT and general road planning than the Wilmington/Brunswick County area. It's goddamn absurd how horrible it is.

The problem is, for many, many years, there simply was no planning. We're kind of like the forgotten step child of NCDOT.

It blows my fuging mind honestly. It's taken whomever got the contract, over 4 months to repave a 5 mile stretch of US 17 and they STILL AREN"T DONE!. In Watauga County, I've seen road crews literally blow up entire mountains, move the rumble into the next valley to make a flat spot, and then pave a road in less time.

I sit back and laugh now. 421/74/17 split and merge was a daily headache for me when I was living in Leland. I even started a thread once when it took me close to 2 hours to go 17 miles to work.
