One day left in the 10 days of bad taste left in mouth

It's a bad feeling to have so much promise that you can pump your chest out when you talk about your team even after a 6 - 10 season. Then you start the new season and your chest slowly begins to deflate...I still have hope though. I don't know why, but I think that we'll have a better showing against Atl than we did against the Giants.

How confident a fan feels about an upcoming game has zero impact on the success of a franchise.

Successful as in selling out all the seats, creating a home field advantage, and really turning this fan base into one of the strongest and most respected in the league.

Successful as in selling out all the seats (they already do) creating a home field advantage, and really turning this fan base into one of the strongest and most respected in the league (winning is what does this, nothing else).

My replies are in red above. The point is, superfandom will not turn the Panthers into a successful franchise. Sustainable winning will.

Quality always prevails over the long term. Put a quality product on the field and everything else will follow.

I hope for the best today, but I think well be down by 21 at halftime. Same problems....dumb playcalling on both sides of the ball, Cam will get no help from the defense, secondary will play 15yds off and get eaten up, no pass rush on Ryan, special teams either fumble or let Falcon's run one in for a TD, etc...

Why do people think fans SHOULD be optimistic about this game?

Trust me, I hate pessimistic fans as much as the next guy, but I'm being realistic here. I'd be fairly surprised (and really happy) if we won. But there is little reason to think we will. Falcons are rolling on all cylinders. We aren't. Atlanta is also at home. I hate being a negative nancy but being real here, Falcons deservedly so are the Goliath in this matchup.
