I guess they redesign these to lower shipping costs and component costs. It looks decent but I don't really care about how a console looks. Handheld designs are important because you look at it when you play, consoles you mainly just see the television.

They never really add anything useful, though. It needs more USB ports most importantly. The original PS3 had more USB ports, an SD card slot and backwards compatibility. You wonder why Sony is struggling so much... Over the course of 5-6 years they've continuously dropped features.

I already have a fat PS3 so I won't be getting one.

Something about the way the top slams open doesn't sit right with me. How much are they new slims going for? Any idea why Sony felt the need to redesign again?

I had the original 360 but when my chaps were born I sold it. As they got older and I had more free time I bought the 360 slim and its definitely an improvement over the original console.
