Simple question.

Without Cam, I think all of those teams would easily beat the Panthers.

You seen some play from Cam this year I haven't so, I will agree to disagree.

I personnaly think his sophmore slump will plague the Panther this entire season.

I also expect the Panthers will be a much better team overall next year if JR hasn't destoyed your cap space to get some more help on defense.

Derek Anderson would keep us from being that bad..

DA is very bad. Look at what he has done post 2007.

We would be worse than the 2010 Panthers overall. Defense is worse, O a little better with DA than Jimmy...but ST is now worse

Not a Cam slump.

Bad defense and a ST unit turning it over put him in a very rough spot....even worse when the OC isn't running.

Pinning it on Cam is lazy evaluation of why we lost 2 games

I think we may not be... we have tremendous running backs, that for some reason (obvioiusly JStew has been hurt some) we're not utilizing well... if we didn't have Cam, we'd be forced to use the running game more effectively than we have. So there's a chance that we wouldn't be THE worst.

I have to say though, and I was thinking about this last night, watching Cleveland play... yes, they're 0-4, but they could easily play with, probably beat us right now given the way their D is playing.

If our O doesn't come around, and soon, we're in for a rough, rough season.

Without a doubt.

I don't think any QB in the NFL has the weight on his shoulders that he does.

Its fuging absurd.

You seem pretty reasonable but don't you think that a lot of this BS Cam brings upon himself?

And the Panthers would not be the worst team in the NFL with out Cam. They'd be a lock for a top 7 pick but I think that they could still win a handful of games. Hell, that team with Clausen won two.

Obviously, I've backed off significantly with my 10 win prediction (as most of us have), but right now I think the Panthers will end up winning 6-7 games in a season similar to last year. Get blown out in a few. Lose a few they should have won. Score 30 points a couple times and lose. I also think that the team could do that with Anderson starting.

I said he was a part of the equation not the only reason. He was a huge part of the giants game loss, I understand beign a fan of a player but saying he had nothing do with that loss is not logical by any means.

Well, I think a more conventional offensive approach would cure some of our ails. I hate blaming the defense when our offense can't do anything like games 1 and 3, which to me, were on the offense more than the defense. Our offense is supposed to be great, to make up for our mediocre defense. Offense is obviously not carrying their weight.

To answer the main question, with DA, I can say we aren't the worst, with JC, definitely.

    • No one is asking him to be Tom Brady. They're just asking him to be as good if not better than Cooper Rush, Jimmy Garoppolo and Carson Wentz. We'd like Young to be better than Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield, but we're not even asking for that. No matter how you cut it he's going to be considered a bust for what was given up for him. He should be outpacing Cam Newton, Jake Delhomme and Kerry Collins game for game in their careers. He should at least be challenging the clutch level of Brady, Mahomes, Stafford, Goff, Garoppolo, Burrow, Hurts and Purdy. Remember that's based on the draft capital given up for Young, and not the extremely low bar Young has actually set for himself.
    • Even if you cherry pick Bryce post benching and ignore everything else and project it out over a full season….. there is no statistical  argument Kyler has ever been worse.   I’m no Murray fan as I agree he is more athlete than QB.   And I’m open to Bryce improving and support us continuing to develop him as this point.
    • We need LBs--build the roster from the bottom up.  On offense, we have Coker who has been huge...if you fill your weaknesse without having to use free agent $$$ or draft picks--win win.
