Embarrassed by Jerry Richardson again: He was one of the leaders to keep refs locked out

You just brought up all the worst arguements someone could make in this thread.

First of all, since I don't have blinders on like you do and can see through the bullshit unlike you, you have nothing left but "since you think you know better, why don't you try it". That is one of the lamest arguements.

I doubt anyone here can become President, but since they pay taxes and vote, they sure as hell can call out the President's bullshit. We the fans invest a lot into this team. And if it's f**king up then we sure as hell should call them on it.

Just because someone isn't a sheep like you doesn't mean we should all just sit back and be happy with this very mediocre franchise.

Another lame arguement you bring up is the other sorry ass franchises that have existed in the NFL. I couldn't give a sh** about them. Just because they were sh**, I should be content with how sh** my team is? I bet you rarely better yourself in life because you compare the situation with other crap situations and go "meh, im good". What a lame excuse to use to avoid having to deal with real situations.

The lamest possible arguement you could bring up is the true fan arguement. That's so laughable I don't think I should even comment on it. How could you not see how dumb that was? Were you expecting lots of pie and rep from that? lol

I won't say you aren't a fan like you did to me, but I will say that you are in denial.

I stated that i'm not happy with the situation of the team so i'm not in denial. I dont worry about things i can't change. I watch every game and root my team on...do you go to the games? I bet ur one of those fans that leaves early, never staying in your seat till the final whistle.

Lets talk about a topic you know something about. So, on your daily duties at work, you discover a foot and half long turd in the toilet...tell me your professional opinion for getting rid of it.....

The Panthers are not one of the worst franchises in the NFL - and their current ranking on the Forbes list is indisputable evidence of that.

I was in Akron, Ohio in May visiting with my girlfriends family. I started bitching about how the Panthers hadn't made the Playoffs in four years and they all started laughing at me. The Browns are an example of a horrible, horrible franchise and fan base.

Richardson has a very good business acumen. He will ensure the franchise's existence and financial prosperity for years. His football acumen is relatively terrible though.

OK. After reading all of this I assume we are all supposed to burn all of our Panthers gear and move en masse over to either the Patriots message board or the...who was in 2nd place? The Packers?

Last Panthers fan out...turn out the lights.

Are you guys serious?! The same guy that went to a PSL owner's funeral he never met and sends hand-written notes to fans is the new Al Davis of the NFL?

To any of you that have fathered children...you try your best, you teach, you chastise, you instruct, you nurture, you discipline. Jerry is the father of a 17 year old that many of you are not pleased with. Guess what? He's not happy either. If YOU ain't happy, how TF do you think he feels? To say he hasn't tried to this point is ignorant. He wanted and stated publicly that we would have a SB Champ within 10 years. He didn't say he would triple his return on investment in 10 years.

Now, who wants to line-up and have the populous critique everything they have done and are doing raising their 17 year old? My kid is 11 and although I want the very best out of him, I realize not everything is under my control. If he starts fuging up, I sure as hell won't give up or disown him or his mother.

JR is not the problem.

Marty Hurney on the other hand, is a different post.

Thanks for admitting defeat as you have no retort.

i mean of course Jerry wants to win. Anybody who thinks otherwise is either brain-dead or has an inside track to the twisted psyche of a master manipulator of an owner.

However, wanting to win and knowing how to get wins are two completely different things

I think if he really cared about winning Hurney would be gone. It doesn't take a huge amount of football intelligence to realise Hurney is terrible. I don't believe JR is dumb enough to not realise this. He is a smart man. Thats why I think he cares more about money, keeping the organization running than forming a consistent winning franchise.

Hurney is there to enforce JR's basic football philosophies on a day-to-day personnel management level. I'm sure he adds his own twist as well though.

You would be implying that the regular refs have absolutely no impact on the NFL's success and that would be false.

Next thing you know, you'll be using this analogy on players.

I'm not implying that. I said in my original post that once it was seen that the replacement officials could not handle the job, a market rate for the old ones had been established, and sure enough, the owners/NFL paid up three days later. There was no way to tell if the refs requests were outlandish or warranted. Businessmen negotiate based on leverage and value. The NFL had the leverage until the replacements poo the bed, and then it swung in favor of the officials.

The main Network IT guy at my office wanted a pay raise because he felt he was vastly underpaid for what he did here. The higher ups pulled the 'you're lucky to have a job' card and he quit. They went through a couple guys and several Outlook and network outages before calling him back, where he then upped his original figure and got it. It's not hard feelings on either side. He proved his worth by the failure of his replacements and at that point his market value became whatever they were willing to pay him.

I don't know why people think JR is a cheap, crazy southern bumpkin just because he doesn't give in to the initial demands of everyone that is either directly or indirectly in his employ.

I think he cares about winning, just has no idea how to do it. He has outdated ideas about football, but clings to them even after they don't work. "Cut taxes on the rich, that will fix the economy" type of mentality. A lot of people have weird and wrong ideas, but that certainly doesn't mean they're actually stupid. Even smart, and even genius people cling to their cognitive bias as much as anyone else.
