A lot of talk about CAM

Much has been made of Cam Newtons demeanor on the sidelines and people have been blatantly calling into question his leadership ability and most recently his manhood (that hello kitty mess is like begging for an a**whoopin). I would like to give you all food for thought.

Few people can truly understand what it is like to have NEVER LOST. I dont mean a single game, I am talking about at life. Try and understand what that means mentally. To be soo much better at something than everyone you have ever been around that you can not understand what it is to lose and face your mortality. What would that person look like. What attitude would he have... I dont know his high school stats (and any stats anyone finds would most likely be inaccurate), but in college his success is well documented.

1st year as a starter=1 loss, 11 victories, national championship

1st year at SEC also knowns as the best collection of talent at the college level= undefeated, national championship, heisman

Follow this up with the number 1 overall pick by a team that plays in what some considered the toughest overall division last year (atleast at the start of the season). And while there were several losses, he still broke a 10+ year passing record and a 30+ year rushing td record, and was awarded with the rookie of the year award. Over those 3 years and im sure his entire football career before them he has numerous awards and records. That is 3 years of unprecedented success. That combination of accolades has Never been seen before. Noone has ever even sniffed that level of success before Cam.

And now the present. His talent is undeniable and still something to be marveled but for some reason he cant understand it is not enough. He can no longer walk (or fly as the case may be) onto the field and ooze excellence. His advantage of height and strength no longer awe those around him. His speed is no longer speed enough...He is humbled, humiliated and dare I say it defeated. I believe that is what we witnessed in that press conference, in the interviews and on the sidelines. Defeat.

But it is not over. Cam is not out. Through his successes he has faced his share of adversity. He has a proven resilience that has yet to fully manifest itself in the man he is becoming. His character is being formed now. There will be some growing pains sure. True Greatness does not come easy, and the journey is just beginning. He will struggle at times, relying less on talent. But his skill will improve.

Carolina is not an elite team, we may not even be good when we look back on this season and as talented as Cam is his talent is not enough. We need his skill . The skill that comes with truly understanding what it means to have people rely on you. Not just because you are so good you hide their mistakes, but because of the man you are. He will learn with time to feed off their respect, to hold them up and draw out their greatness. At that moment watch out because he will achieve a level of success he has never experienced before.

I believe in you Cam. I understand the pressure and I know you will pull us through. Keep your head up.

This. Remember when the poo hit the fan about his Florida troubles and he turned down EVERY interview? Where all he did was just play football? Get back to that. I would literally tell JR and Rivera, "look, I just want to focus on this game and this team. the media just wants soundbites and to get me on camera to pick me apart, screw that. let me just play ball for a few weeks, hell, this whole season".

When our media start mocking one of their many chosen QBs and criticizing their body language and leadership skills, then and only then will I take anything they say seriously.

If you pay attention, our media go from one of their least favorite player to another saying the same BS. Last season it was Sanchez, and his leadership skills being question based on nothing more than media spin and now it's Cam based on him having a towel on his head after losing a game.

So the jury is still out on Cam. It really doesn't matter who is the QB for the Panthers the same problem still exsist THE OFFENSIVE LINE!!!!! They SxxK, until the management can find five guys who can protect the QB, the panthers will be lucky to be a .500 team. In todays NFL if you can't score at least 28 points a game expect to lose 50% of your games. To do that depends on your offensive line to go to the playoffs you need a good one, and to win the Superbowl you need the best line. Sure you need a QB but you don't have to have the best QB to win the Superbowl. Yes I believe Cam can win the Superbowl, if he has some help. So if you go with the team history since they have never supported the QB with an offensive line, Cam will get his bowl at his next team barring injury.

Please let's remind some folks who seem to believe that Cam should be able to do it all, that the Saints have one of the best QBs in the league per our sports experts. He broke all kinds of records last season. This season their coach is suspended and an interim coach is in his place....The team now sits at a record 0-3 for the season. Yet, Drew is still racking up passing points.

I've been saying this for awhile, but for a kid who has had success at all levels, from High School to the NFL; I would have to question are all of Cam's previous offensive coordinators better than his current coordinator? We should have been open up as business as usual this season instead, we are bi-polar on offense, and although the defense has improved slightly, any chance to see them do better has been dampened by a stagnant offense in 2 out of 3 games. You can blame it on Cam, but I say look higher.

To be a great leader, you have to lose sometimes, cause ya have to learn how to come back from making mistakes, have to learn how to overcome adversity, and to lead the team through it.

What the fug are you talking about "never lost at life"? He was basically run out of Florida and ended up playing JUCO for a year before he went to Auburn and became a superstar.
