I'm beginning to believe that Merle is going to be the evil "governor" from the comics

I had that thought once, but I don't think so. I think they're just trying to play Merle up to amplify the Governor's true nature. Make Governor just seem like a Rick-type with a few other things that are obviously wrong with his psyche, but overall, just a normal guy put in an extraordinary situation. Then, slowly, they reveal the Governor for who he is. Since we see what Merle is, that is what we're basing "evil" on, and the Governor will deliver in terms of completely overshadowing that.

I agree, plus the governor did have a few evil cronies with him too. I just really liked how kirkman decided to hold off bringing Merle back until wood berry. He could have brought back Merle by himself in a solo, cameo role....instead he brings him in as the right hand man of the governor.

I also have the feeling that there will be a very different end to the outcome of wood berry/prison thing

Interesting that you would call Merle, of all people, the Governers 'right hand man' lol.

Let's see how quickly poo gets out of hand this week. Also, I noticed something watching the replay of last week's episode. Shane had his catch phrase, "m'ask you somethin', man". Hardcore fans know this. That was his thing. Andrea, early in the episode, tells the Governor, "let me ask you something". Just found it hilarious and I found myself saying out loud, in Shane-voice "m'ask you somethin', man!"
