I don't know about "Capt Caveman" but the Capt can play and will lay a lick on you. I think I would rather have him returning kicks than Mark Jones too. The guy has talent and is fast, his lack of height is his biggest drawback.

He is a baller. He's a not as good in zone coverage, but hell, can he play man. In my opinion, he's a CB version of Steve Smith.

zone isn't his strength but man is...i think he could end up being great against players who work their way around our zones. one thing i kept seeing about him is that he didn't have a lot of numbers compared to other CBs in the draft but that was because he didn't have the ball thrown on his side of the field much. i'm thinking...isn't that a good thing?

I think he will be like a Ricky Manning Junior. He will get pushed around by the big recievers but will make big plays at times to. Just like Manning he is small but will get in your face as well.

The thing about being good in man coverage is that those skills are used in zone coverage as well. The corner will press the receiver off the line and play tight coverage similar to man coverage but will release him to another defender as he passes throgh the zone and into another. Secondly the nickel guy plays alot more man coverage than does a normal corner. That could be why we picked him. Having both skill sets is a good thing.

With that being said, can you explain to me why we have such a problem accomplishing this, much less even trying it?

I can't recall the last game I saw, that resembled any pressure on any receiver off the LOS.

I know you are talking defense in general throughout the league, but what is our problem with doing this?
