I don't see your point about Neblett. He's on a four game suspension.....and is mysteriously ill. They found a way to keep him around through cuts, because of his stated upside. Whether he sticks around after his suspension, well we'll see. You're just proving my point though - if the Panthers value you they will keep you.

Ultimately it became clear they had more faith in, and valued Nebbles more than McClain after the addition of Edwards. Like you said if they value you they will keep you. McClain wasn't kept, Couldn't he have had some 'illness' too?

He may not be a bust by your standards, but he was a bad pick. Would Jimmy Clausen be excused from this talk because we only used him for one year before replacing him with a superior player? The fact that the FO was so eager to get rid of him so quickly after his rookie year tells me that they felt that he wouldn't ever develop as good as big name DT Dwan Edwards is THIS YEAR (who has been a good player this year no doubt).

It may be by my standards, but I don't recall many situations like McClains, after one year being let go. Especially after a very weird season with no OTA's and a Lock out and all that.

Jimmy shouldn't be here to be honest but he is. To take your view on it, does this mean that the brass saw something in him? I highly doubt that. He's a back up nothing more. Even then he lost his job to a Vet, like McClain has. except that Jimmy is still on the roster.

Maybe they felt his ceiling wouldn't reach as high as Edwards is now? I don't know, all I'm saying is that he's certainly not a bust just because we let him go. I just don't see him being a bust. Maybe 2 years down the road. But certainly not, this year.

It pains me to say it but I kind of hope he is a bust that way it won't look as bad if he doesn't become one and we let him go for Edwards. Then there's the flip of that coin that if he is a bust our FO can't detect talent...
