I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the referee lockout is a unilateral NFL decision made by Roger Goodell and does not involve the owners. The league pays the salaries of the referees, not the owners nor their teams.

Therefore, as a unilateral decision by the commissioner, the owners are putting their complete greed and arrogance on display if they are not rising up as one to tell Goodell to end this thing. With the owners sitting silently by and watching while poor officiating has a direct effect on the outcome of the games their teams are playing only demonstrates even more the owners care more about the business than they do the game.

The integrity of the game is at stake and, as was proven last night, the performance of one team over another is only part of the equation when it comes to winning the game.

Get Ed Hochuli back to work so he can blow a call at the end of a game giving the W to Denver, I mean these amateurs suck!

After blowing a call that helped the Denver Broncos beat the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, the referee admitted he made a mistake on Wednesday and is answering e-mails from some fans telling them that, according to multiple media reports.

"I'm getting hundreds of e-mails -- hate mail -- but I'm responding to it all," Hochuli wrote to several Chargers fans, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. "People deserve a response. You can rest assured that nothing anyone can say can make me feel worse than I already feel about my mistake on the fumble play. You have no idea … Affecting the outcome of a game is a devastating feeling. Officials strive for perfection -- I failed miserably. Although it does no good to say it, I am very, very sorry."

The crucial call occurred with the Broncos at the Chargers' 1-yard-line in the final minute. Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler dropped back to pass, the ball slipped out of his hands, bounced off the grass and into the arms of Chargers linebacker Tim Dobbins.

So, in short, the NFL owners are being greedy and treating their employees like easily replaceable commodities.

Seems more like the refs are saying its ok to make concessions that lower other guys checks, just not ours. Way to show solidarity zebras.
