...because I know somebody's going to make that point on here like 100 times to make the Panthers look better than they've shown, consider that as fans, naturally we'd feel better about our team being 1-2 if they had won the Superbowl two years prior than if they had been the worst team in the NFL two years prior.

This isn't to say I think the Panthers are going to keep sucking for the entire year, but using this to draw on a bigger point, before we start making parallels between them and championship contenders, can we at least wait until they actually show us they're championship contenders?
