Pictures of players on the bench

Cam is seen quite often running down the sidelines when the defense makes a big play. He is cheering on his team all the time from the sideline when they do something good. There just aren't that many opportunities. He cheers on his teammates more than most starting QBs in the NFL. Thats a fact

Exactly. It's just that the cameras only show him when he's down.

So why does our guy get so much hate??

It's more than the towel over his head thing, it's Cams inability to be a leader.

I can't help but recall the Panthers losing to the Patriots, as Jake sat there on the bench watching that field goal go in! He sat there and watched the team loose because you win as a team and you loose as a team.

I have yet to see Cam going over to the offensive line as the game is falling apart, telling them that "things will be better" and to "keep pounding", when anybody on that line wants to give up. All I ever see is Cam happy when he's winning and sad when he isn't. Cam needs to be the quarterback and emotional leader of the Carolina Panthers, through thick and thin.

Is it too much to ask Cam to do that? Maybe he isn't ready. Maybe he will be someday? Maybe he will never be? Fact is, some quarterbacks lack leadership but few that lack leadership, make great quarterbacks.

That is what Steve was getting on Cam about. Cam is the face of the Carolina Panthers franchise and there he was Thursday night, in primetime, when the rest of the team was struggling, tossing a towel over his face, closing his eyes and trying to pretend ALL of it never happened! BUT it did happen and 52 other players took it like men.

So Jake is a leader because he sat on the bench & watched the team lose but Cam isn't a leader because he sat there on the bench & watched the team lose?
