Why should I seek help?

Steve Smith is not a champion of all that is good and right. He sucker punched TWO teammates. He bullied a rookie QB. He kicked out at an opponent and (basically) lost a game for the Panthers.

Now he's calling out Newton in the media.

He's a great football player, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't give him the time of day off the field.

Newton is a 2nd year pro who has the hopes of the franchise weighing down on his shoulders. He is who he is - people are trying to force him into being something he's not. So what if he sits on his own on the bench? So what if he doesn't look enthralled when the OC is running through the previous series.

Is he productive? Does the team follow him? Yes. That's all I need to know. Not every QB has to be Peyton fuging Manning.

We have MUCH bigger problems than Newton taking losses to heart and being bitchy with the media.

The Panthers did actually insist that Smith get anger management training and he did.

In all honestt, I have done a lot of observing of both this team and the fanbase.

I am a lover of this sport. I have my favorite teams but I always want talented players and teams to succeed. I get extremely frustrated at the clownishness we now accept in our sports media. When those fools can sit in a chair and read all kinds of ish into a player simply because they know folks will take everything they hear and hear and run with it, it really bothers me. I was quite vocal when the media was constantly doggind Eli and questioning his talent. I am now quite vocal with how they are treating Sanchez vs. The Golden Calf of Bristol.

I don't like foolishness. Nor do I care for those who make a living off of these athletes by picking and choosing which one they are going destroy with their immature games. IMO, they are not only destroy this sport but very talented players.

IMO, both Cam and Stevie are alike in many ways but how they handle their anger. They both are very passionate players. The difference is Smitty shows his anger and Cam internalizes his. Don't see why we're all angry at Cam for not being like Smitty. Don't get why you would feel he's not a mature person because he's not running around trying to cheer up his team. That is down right silly. There are folks with that personality and you folks know that. I can get you not all 31 QBs are out there cheering up their players after a lost.

When folks jump on Cam for such foolishness as him sitting with a towel and is using to to feed the already media created image of him, I have no respect for those fans because IMO,they are hurting their team to get at a person they don't seem to realize it.

Smitty has anger issues. I can say that with all sincerity but what I see happening is the media now projecting Steve's issues unto Cam instead of holding Steve responsible for his own demons.I'm sure Cam has enough issues of his own. It's not fair that he's now stereotyped with mental issues because the media love Steve more. That is extremely immature.

Like I said before, our media has a tendency of role reversing with the players they don't care for. The negative things they see in a players they like, they will re-created in the image of a player don't care for. IMO, Cam is being set up by the media to fail because they cannot be wrong and they have already set out to paint him as another VY..

How do you know? In just this last game, we had Dwill refusing to let go of a read option hand off when Cam tried to pull it back and Smith jawing in his ear. It's very easy for people to make the argument that the team is starting to not trust Cam on the field. The reasons for that are two fold: a play standpoint and a leadership standpoint. When you make bad decisions with the football and aren't using good leadership skills to make up for it players begin to second guess you as a leader and will subsequently try to make things happen on their own.

Is it possible that this is all just circumstantial bullshit? Of course. Look I love Cam, and I know without a doubt that the major problems on this team, from a production standpoint, are not Cam's at all. However to ignore any issues that he might have, especially with leadership, is detrimental to his development and will provide problems in the long run. For Cam to have long term sustained success as an NFL QB he has to learn how to lead and the sooner he does the better.

LOL...Just because I wasn't on this site, doesn't mean I wasn't around. I am very much aware of your receiver's behavior issues. I follow Football. I don't have to be on a site to be aware of what's going on in the league.

My question is, why are you folks so cavaliar about his issues and happy when he projects them at every new QB you get? Is that some twisted form of innitiation on your part? You enjoy going through QBs as a way to show other teams that you're a strong team? I don't get it...Why does Cam need someone like Steve teaching him to be a man when he's yet to become one himself Being a father doesn't always make you a man.

I still believe Smitty got mad at Cam for other reasons and use the whole, I was mad at him about his image to appease the media because he's well aware of what they are saying about Cam.

Issue remains, guys like Jordan Gross called Steve out for a reason.....just bc Cam needed something said doesn't mean any method is then correct. Smitty went through the media.....and THAT always shows someone who still doesn't know how to lead. Beason calling out Peppers that way also was Beason learning.....wrong way.

Hmm....most bullies have inferiority complexes. They usually don't care about your size. Theysimply love to intimmedate their victims. They love to get into their victims heads by projecting their own issues unto them.

Also, Smitty does believe he's a bad ass. I saw how he went at that Gaints defensive guy. I seriously wondered out loud what was up with his temper.

You realise that was a miscommunication, right? Williams didn't want to let go of the ball because he thought it'd be fumbled i.e. Newton took too long deciding on whether to give it to him or not, so Williams took it upon himself to carry the football.
