This Coaching Staff is Babying Newton

The only issue is running it without Stewart. Chud needs to gameplan a traditional offense then.....

But since the read option has been introduced we have been an NFL offensive power. Option offense clearly works.

Chud just needs to realize when he can't use it. It needs to be 100% on the shelf if Williams is the primary RB. Give Williams a FB and work Cam under c

I do not agree with this. DWill ran effectively on several occasions out of the read option against the Giants. That game would not have been significantly different with Stew playing.

We got beat badly on both LOS in the early part of the game, then we were so far behind we had to try to play catch up. Throw in Adams' fumbles, and it was a disaster unfolding before out eyes.

One thing I did notice, the Giants were clearly focused on not letting Cam run no matter what, and that helped DWill get a couple of nice gains. This team needs to develop the short passing game for situations like this to help slow down the rush.

Oh, and anyone notice that when Anderson went in, we threw 2 quick slants? Where was that play earlier?

Guys I'm sorry but Newton has regressed big time both mentally and physically this year. I cringe everytime he drops back and passes because more times than not it gets intercepted. Cam has 0 mental toughness. He will NEVER be the QB that can lead a team back after he throws 3 interceptions. My guess is he will either quit football in a couple years or sign with another team. I hope we suck enough for Matt Barkley because Cam will take us nowhere. He is only good for fantasy points, nothing more nothing less.

Cam would actually be better off running more or doing checkdowns. He waits too long and wants to force the ball deep, which leads to INTs or Sacks.

I do think it's him and Chud. To me its mostly on Chud because it's their job to teach a young QB to just take what they give you. Also we dont have no huge receivers where Cam can run a slant and throw high and he got get it. In fact IMO we don't use enough receivers

This is why Gettis to me is important and a lot of people don't see it. He has size and amazing speed

I'm going to be laughing my ass off once we win a couple games going into the bye week, and all this criticism on the coaches and Cam just falls to the wayside. Maybe, I'll bump one of these foolish threads once we have a winning record, just to remind everyone not to panic after every loss.

I hope you are laughing this year and not 2, 3, 5, 10 years from now.

I'm being dead serious. Name one other time other than against the crap ass Jaguars Cam has been clutch in crunch time? The dude is the anti clutch. Mark my words, one of two things will happen. A. He will up and quit like Ryan Leaf in a year or two OR B. He will sign with another team in 3 years when his contract is up.

I mean this with every ounce of my being, if we started Derek Anderson, we would go to the playoffs. He is a proven pro bowler in this system and knows the offense well.

Could it be that the "experts"were correct when they said Cam could not run a pro-style offense? Not saying it's true, but maybe the coaches are bringing him along slowly, seeing what he can handle and what he can't.

Wouldn't mind seeing someone get in his face when he starts his moping on the bench.... that crap needs to stop NOW

Dude the experts were spot on! Cam is just a more accurate Ryan Leaf. He is such a cry baby bitch. I really think drafting Cam was a cash grab for attention, ticket sales and jersey sales. Had we drafted Von Miller or Dareus and started Derek Anderson, 3-0 by now guaranteed. Once Cam throws a pick the game is over. He acts just like I do when I play Madden online and go down by 3 TDs, I rage quit.

I saw want to go in on this guy right now so bad ^

But he has 7 posts, that really says it all

Why? I know it's harsh but it's the truth. Name a time where Cam has shown real leadership? he has lost EVERY single game he has thrown an interception in, EVERY single one. But all is well, at least he ran for over 50 yards and passed for over 400. You may think I'm crazy now but in 2 years when Cam has either quit or is a backup to DA you will see exactly what I was talking about.

i'm just noticing this wave of people coming in who seemingly didn't pay attention to football prior to 2011

i mean does nobody else remember how a lot of the same criticisms that are being tossed at cam right now were thrown at guys like brees, both mannings, and rodgers to name a few? peyton was constantly poo on as a non-clutch stat padding whiner before his team won a super bowl. eli was openly called out by the giants' owner in 2007 after the giants lost to the cowboys and his ability to actually take that next step and justify his draft position was constantly being debated. the giants' 2007 title and eli's performance actually took some heat as a fluke in 2008 (after the ass-whipping by the eagles at home in the divisional round of the playoffs) and 2009 (after completely laying down for us with a possible playoff berth on the line).

brees was frequently criticized (especially by this fanbase because we were comparing him to jake delhomme) as a guy who supposedly was selfishly chasing records and piling up stats but couldn't win in the clutch in 2007 and 2008. similar criticisms were hurled at aaron rodgers after his first full two seasons as a starter and the playoff loss against arizona.

tldr fans are fickle and you don't know where this is going to end up. you don't know the magic formula.
