We should make J-Stew the face of the franchise. :D Yet, this myth that Stew has such a command on our offense is starting to bother me. I'm not saying he isn't impactful, that would be a completely stupid thing to say, yet come on. All this says is we need to get rid of this crappy option run play as our main run offense.

Yall forget that the Saints are a reeling defensive team. We think that J-Stew made all the difference last week when we played the Saints, but in actuality it was the Saints defense that made the difference. With all that said, Jonathan is definitely our best RB. I just hope his skills don't prolong this awful run offense we got right now. The sooner we get rid of that, the better.

We avg 25+ points per game with Stew and the option....no one bitches and moans about it until Stewart can't play.

Problem is simply when Stewart isn't there....our other RBs don't fit the scheme Chud wants to run in the primary role. Fitting a scheme is every bit as important as talent

Stew is so important because he is the back that falls forward. He consistently gains a few yards and keeps us on a better pace or schedule in terms of down and distance. I think Tolbert's been underutilized in this role but he might be blocking more than I realize.

When I see DeAngelo as the sole back, I see a too much horizontal running. That can beat some teams, but it doesn't beat teams that are loaded on the defensive line like the Bucs and the Saints. Stewart isn't going to bust long runs as easily as DeAngelo, but he is more equipped to deal with a DE in the backfield.

I know Stew loses yards at times, but on average, he bursts up the middle for three yards instead of trying to redirect to the edge and getting swallowed by the DE who stayed home (JPP). Those plays are under appreciated because they keep us going forward and they don't give the defense the sense that they completely won that play. It's the small consistent plays instead of the home runs that are the glue of the offense.

I like both guys though. Stew and DeAngelo make each other much better than they'd be apart.

When we were going up against the likes of the reeling Colts and Buccaneers. I can predict a beat down by the Falcons this week if the option play is our main offense, with Jonathan there.

I feel like they shut down 60% of the playbook when Stew is out. He is the only back we use in power formations. They act like they don't want to run the screen to anyone else. It is a shame, because I thought D-lo was an equal back. With the addition of Tolbert, we had insurance. We need to get back to power running and play-action. We ran the option last year less than twenty times. It makes things harder for our linemen, the backs, and Cam when we run it exclusively. I agree we have got to switch it up.
