I was thinking this the other night. Can someone explain why we cant try a few snaps with Cam under center, mike tolbert behind him, and deangelo behind him?

It bothered me because Tuck and JPP pinned their ears back on every shotgun formations but they were more cautious and didn't attack as hard when Cam lined up under center.

1) Put pressure on the Failcans. Offensively and Defensively.

2) Play big boy football.

3) Chud, please use real plays on first and second downs.. I am tired of wasting first and second downs trying to outsmart and outgimmic the opposition. Just run a fuging play already. Quit making Cam save your butt after failing on the early downs.

2) can we just run a traditional offense please...these long developing shotgun play actions on third and short don't help our o-line whatsoever

3. Cam has to bounce back and be Cam again. He needs to take what Smitty said and be all up in everyone's faces in the side lines next week. Take those mental reps, if the o-line surrenders a sack go and say you still have full confidence in them and everything will be alright.

There are needs that we likely cannot ignore and overcome with mere effort. Cam is a huge concern right now. Without him our offense, the Chud offense is useless. Without an offense our already weakened defense is going to get exposed even more so than last season.

Everyone wants to point at where our deficiencies are and blame losses and embarrassments on those. Hell, we knew we were gonna have DB issues. We knew Safety may be an issue. We knew we would be lucky to get a consistent pass rush or even an inconsistent one. We all knew we may see the right side of our O-line was going to be iffy at best.

We knew this last season and we knew the same was true for this season.

What was planned was offensive prowess. Offensive shootout. Can the return of our linebackers and a slight improvement in the secondary give us 8, 9, or even 10 wins in comparison to a slightly weaker schedule compared to last year's 6-10 campaign and the nominal upgrades to the defense that failed us so many times late in games during that campaign.

What we did not expect was that our offensive prowess would be spotty at best and disappear in some spots when we really needed it to show up.

So am I upset that our defense gets carved up because we still can't get to the quarterback? Sure. I was upset about that in June, July, and August. Am I upset that Byron Bell may still be a year away? Sure but that was a real concern all summer and became a real sticking point with Otah's release.

So while I am concerned about the same things I was concerned about when I read the reports from camp and watched some preseason action, I am PISST about what I thought would not be an issue. Cam is a disappointment thus far and I NEVER saw that coming. And just like I stated at the top, we were never coming in to this season hoping to dominate defensively. We never had confidence in our DB's during the months leading up to this season. But we have had the one strong leg we could stand on ripped out from under us which does nothing but multiply our known deficiencies exponentially and leave us all staring in disbelief and looking for relief from a roster that does not have the capability to exceed expectations.

A slumping Cam is the absolute LAST thing we needed. Sorry if you think this is Cam bashing and I'm sorry about all the time you took to prepare that laundry list of excuses for him but the fact is that MUCH more was expected of him to this point and without him we do not have a chance in hell this season or anytime in the near future barring some extremely expensive shakeups and yet another "rebuilding period."

The kid is the future and he has the tools to demand that kind of anointing and the pressure that comes along with it. If he proves to be a mental midget and goes the way of Vince Young the Panthers as an organization are fuct. Proper fuct.

ETA: I just read a little of the Fire Hurney petition thread and lol'd for the reasons listed above. LOTS of things are Hurney's fault but Cam playing like total poo in the first half of the bux game and all of the Giants game is not on Marty.

4) Cam has to light a spark and be energetic no matter the situation. He is a leader wether he is a captain or not. The players are following his leader

I don't see any way possible we don't do this. The Giants picked apart our zone with ease. If we come out in the same zone coverage in a dome... ugh.

But, McDerpit has been doing it since he got here. He's trying to live off of Johnson's legacy of being the master of the "zone blitz," but it's either poorly conceived or executed or both.

That being said, for us to win, my 3 things would be:

1) Play man with very little zone used throughout the game (75/25 ratio regardless of blitzing)

2) Front 4 absolutely has to get push up the middle, get Ryan to move

3) OL has to block and give Cam time

*4-Bonus) No more stupid penalties that put us in 2nd or 3rd and 20+.

1) Play man coverage

2) Ensure our offense starts at the 20 yd line or better even if you have to take a knee on the KO

3) Take what the offense gives you instead of trying to force a vertical game without blocking

4) Stop being sloppy with the ball - NO turnovers!

#1 Ball Control - I think we need to shorten this game and limit their time of possessions. Kind of how teams would try to limit the number of opportunties Peyton got in Indy... They are an explosive offense, the best place for them is on the sidelines. Make this a slow ugly game. As others mentioned good O-line blocking, go with maybe some I formations and get good positive runs without getting to cute. When the option does not work it's negative yards and we need to stay out of 2nd and 3rd and longs.

#2 Turnovers - We have to win the turnover battle. Cam needs to be smart and not force balls or make bad over throws... a sack and a punt is better than turnovers.

#3 man up... If we try to play that soft zone defense Matt Ryan and his wideouts will eat us up. Having luke should help limit tony G's effectiveness.

Any given Sunday, we can win this game! Just saw the 49ers go down to the Vikings... Play smart, get ahead, and we can win.
