89 started screaming and cursing at Cam last night

At least you're honest enough to share how many of the Panther's fans seriously feel about Cam but are afraid to show it.

It's painfully obvious that Cam is nothing more than a workhorse and scape-goat for this team.

Preciate it.. im sure some will get butthurt because I don't like our franchise QB.. but it doesn't really bother me in the slightest. I'm used to having Steve Smith bail out whoever is under center.. and he did that a lot last year for Cam also. So as far as i'm concerned Steve Smith can say whatever the hell he wants to Cam.

I will say from day 1 I never liked cam .. I still don't , but I don't have to like him to like my team. So whining about people dogging cam is really dumb considering everybody has 1 player on a team they don't care for. If Cam does well then cool.. if he plays like ass then fug him sideways .. it's whatever.

Not hard to understand why you disliked him...

From your screen name, you are a Gamecock fan....and Cam Newton curbstomped the Gamecocks twice in one season. So you probably definitely were on the Scam wagon bc you wanted to hate the guy.....which in that scenario made sense. Before he was drafted Gamecock fans had a reason to hate him....he embarrassed the Gamecocks.

I actually disliked him before then actually. Though that certainly didn't help. He originally was close to committing to the gamecocks but changed his mind at the last second and we were in to deep with him because we felt he was a lock so we ended up not taking a decent QB in that class and that really hurt the team. I disliked him because of how much of a jackass he was for not informing Spurrier way beforehand that he wasn't as interested as he lead on. Then when the whole Auburn deal happened as I already hated anything to do with the state of Alabama with every fiber of my being which is ironic that Captain is from Mobile , it just escalated my dislike. However yeah I have a reason I don't like him outside of Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire.. I actually don't have an opinion on the whole pay to play crap.

I am a gamecock fan before a panther fan by only a small percent so how he screwed over my college team will bother me for a few more years. I may tolerate him at some point but for now no.. I do not like him.

As for the curbstomping as you put it.. the first game they won by 7 at their stadium .. the 2nd they got to enjoy playing against the 2nd team secondary as we were beaten to a pulp on defense with injuries so it was awesome they made it to the dome to begin with.

IMO until further notice the only real Newton at QB is Syvelle Newton. ( that is the defensive back Cam newtons brother we had a few years ago)

Well said. Oh and if Steve Smith would have pulled this on stafford or Luck the media would have eaten him alive.

This dumming down by our media is getting ridiculous. We're now being told who to like and how the to see these players. I started to seriously pay attention to the way these athletes were being portrayed in the media a few years ago. That is what opened my eyes.

I was annoyed with the way Jay Cutler was treated by the media, when they ripped him because the camera caught him laughing after another Bear's losing game. The truth was, he wasn't there laughing and joking as those in the media was portraying him to be. He simply laughed when one of his team-mates was trying to cheer him up and the camera caught it. So not everything you see is the way it really appears.

Unfortunately, just like Culter, the media chose to turn Cam sitting with a towel on his head into a problem and a sign of concern for the Panthers. And, Smitty and HIS maurity issues, played right into their hands. I saw a grown man Thursday night on tv throwing temper tantrums and the media reward him with the usual.... Oh,that's Steve Smith for you, attitude. But Cam cannot be himself by simply sitting and keeping to himself. His every move was being watched and disected as if he was on the FBI most wanted list

I would much rather have a QB who keeps to himself than one so hot tempered that he's always fighting and in folks faces.

Clearly, just like everything else with our media...maturity is subjective.

They would've been portrayed as "victims" of a selfish diva WR. Luck threw 3 picks his first game and got smoked, and none of the media roasted him for it and demanded one of his receivers "put him in his place". But Cameron because of his size and athleticism will never be portrayed as that way. He will be marketed as a "brute", great physical specimen but flawed or undeveloped mentally. Same rehashed Jim crow era stereotypes, despite the fact Cameron is a lot smarter and mature than he's given credit at 23 years old.

Maybe you should practice what you're preach. I'm always amazed how some folks can easily perch themselves up on a soapbox and tear into someone's character based on nothing more than false perception.

I'm also glad to see how hypocritcal you are because everything you stated about Cam more describes Steve.

And I personally don't see attacking someone for not moving to the beat of your drums a sign of a selfless and mature individual. It's clear you folks don't care for Cam or else you wouldn't be hiding your own immaturity behind Smitty.

lol MMMMMMM false perception, Ive met them both, Steve is a stand up guy, Cam is not, Really don't think Cam will last long, Hope I'm wrong and we have a winning season, but so far I dont see him as a team player,

Cam has never suckerpunched one or TWO of his teammates or threw one of them under the bus in the media for local brownie points. Losing all these years has obviously taken its toll on Smith, and lets not act like he hasnt had his leadership/maturity questioned NUMEROUS times over the years. I applaud him stepping up and talking to Cam, but to run to the media about it is weak as fug.

That is true and I have seen the same poo play out for over 25 years with mcnabb, culpepper, moon, cunningham and mcnair. Same poo different decade.

Meh it's one thing to call someone out on the sideline .. but when you call them out to the media then no matter where they go they will know what they did wrong. Could be a good thing that he did that.

Opposite, calling guys out on the field or in house is fine...often a good thing. .Taking it to the media actually shows a LACK of leadership on Smith's part. Which is nothing new.

What Ricky Prohel did was leadership....

What Smitty did? Flawed

I don't understand why the QB is allowed to sit on the bench and not be part of talking to the other QBs and coaches.

He is PART of the team he isn't THE TEAM.

On JPP, exactly, and BTW that was a player we had th opportunity to draft and didn't.

I don't mean to pile onto Newton, there are plenty of other issues with this team; but, QB is the leader. I saw it last year and thought, ok, he just needs to learn; but, in year 2, that crap in the press conferences and the sidelines to stop.

I manage people. I don't like it; but, I do. The way I act, the way I lead, the way I do things under pressure has a mirror effect on the people around me. Cam has got to get that and understand it. If it doesn't, it's over. Draft someone else.

If we are totally honest with ourselves, who on this board thought Newton could/would lead a comeback?

We never had a chance to draft JPP....
