I called 3-13 last night.

This team came into this year feeling themselves and just aren't ready. Realistically before the season, I was thinking 8 or 9 wins. Optimistically, I was hoping for 11 or 12 and shocking the world.

We shocked them all right last night. With how bad we really are.

3-13 is very realistic with as bad as this defense is and considering the offense has been figured out.

If we do not win more than 6 games this year (not that I think we will at this rate) then this coaching staff needs to go. I know it will not but it needs to! Who here is tired of the word Execution? Every damn press conference thats all we hear about. Execution this and that. Well someone Execute already, and stop talking about it.

way too early for you guys to be thinking 3 win season. the Giants are a really good team and its not that surprising to see them win like they did.

We are a good football team just like the Giants. It's no excuse to go out their and lay and egg like that. We got to see some improvements from this football team because if we don't it can get real ugly for us. This game also proves that the Saints are really ass this season.

Okay, I had to come out of retirement just to chime in on this thread.

It's ridiculous that you all are even thinking about 3-13 season after 3 weeks. Many factors played into this loss, and very few lead me to believe that we are staring at a losing season.

First of all, it's nonsense to say that our offense has been figured out. 2 out of the 3 weeks we haven't even had our whole offense! Undeniable fact is that we are 0-2 without Jonathan Stewart, and a decided 1-0 with him. He's a major part of our game plan. Say what you will about us being over reliant on him, it's probably true, but the foundation of our offense is the three headed monster or J-Stew, D-Will, and Superman. You lose any of them and the offense suffers, and we've been suffering without our bruising back.

And I won't deny for a second that our defense sucks. You should have figured that out when we did precisely NOTHING to upgrade the defensive line or secondary in the offseason. (Seriously. Nothing. I mean, there are various degrees of something, from drastic change, to changes so small they seem pointless. We did less than the latter on the D-Line and at cornerback. WTF?) But we are an offensive team. That's clearly our DNA this year. We're going to allow 26 points a game, but the assumption is that we will score 35.

But last night, our powerhouse offense never got going. And that is all attributable to J-Stew being out. I love D-Will, but he's not the guy who starts a game for this team. Our O-line is shockingly bad. As a result D-Will can't find a hole against fresh defenses. As a result, our first few drives stall. Instead of chewing up clock and wearing down defenses, we punt and allow the other teams to score. We stall again, we get down a few more points, and desperation sets in. Pressure gets cranked up on Cam, and with no run-game to keep defenses honest, he get's chewed up.

J-Stew makes his own holes through the defense. He keeps drives going early in the game. He bruises for that first down, going down after third or fourth contact, as opposed to D-Will on first. Then once the defenses are exhausted, D-Will hits a home run. That's our offense. But it doesn't work without that foundation of the three headed monster.

As soon as we have that foundation back, we WILL get wins. We may even contend for a playoff spot. The season is very early, and we will get hot. Guaranteed. Our defense will remain terrible, but we have the offense to win in a shootout with any team in the league. We just need that solid foundation back. And we will get it back.
