lmfao... I guess no matter how much explanation people are going to miss the point.

Don't go see the president if you don't want to...

nobody cares if you want to see the president or not.

It has nothing to do with who the President is or isn't.

Has nothing to do with anything related to politics.

To come out and say, "invite us when we don't win the superbowl" is totally off the map and went over Harrison's head on why the Superbowl winning team goes to see the President.

If it's that hard to understand, then let me know. I won't waste my breath. lol

I understood perfectly. My point is who the hell cares if he doesnt want to see the president? Why is he "off his rocker" for saying this? Its his right to feel the way that he does. People also ripped Vince Young for not wearing a stupid suit to meet the president when the Long Horns won the national championship and I couldnt understand what the big deal was then. Who cares? He's just the president. He puts his pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us. Why should people go out of their way to meet him just because they won a football game? Normally I wouldnt give a crap either if it was me on a super bowl winning team. But since I really like Obama I may have made an exception. But Harrison is fully in his right to feel the way that he does.

For the 2309823023 time, he isn't "off the rocker" for saying he doesn't want to meet the president. He's off the rocker for saying "Invite us when we don't win the Superbowl."

Why?

Because people who don't win the Superbowl aren't invited. lmfao...

it wasn't his feelings on Obama, or politics, or anything at all regarding going to the White house... it ONLY has to do with that one remark that makes him look like an idiot. "Invite us when we don't win the Superbowl."

Well, Harrison... you won't be invited when you don't win the superbowl, because you're obviously an idiot that doesn't understand the whole concept behind Superbowl winners being invited to the whitehouse.

Seems pretty simple to me. But I digress....

Yes I agree, but you have to admit that many of the responses have been very prejudicial politically speaking...

perhaps so, but that's due only to those who aren't understanding such a simple concept. And we wonder why it's so hard to discuss football concepts/acquisitions/etc when this is so hard to understand.

Its clearly you who doesnt understand what he is saying then. He's saying the president normally wouldnt care to meet him unless he wins the super bowl. So why in the world should he care enough to meet him then? I understood what he meant why is it so hard for you? There was absolutely nothing wrong with what he said.

Well I don't think they're being dense, I just think they are willing to push their opportunities at every chance possible. That being said, what does that have to do with football?...

And whats the big deal if someone on one of those championship teams doesnt feel like its a big deal to meet the president?

It's not, it's just someone making a big deal about him turning the president down with a bullshit excuse like, "invite me because I didn't win the Super Bowl", like that's gonna happen...

Harrison is an idiot not mental ill. Why would the president of the most important country in the free world with a calendar of critical issues and meetings which typically makes his working day 15-20 hours long meet with someone who hadn't done something important or who didn't further the interest of the country.

The reality is whether you like the President or not if you are an American then you ought to respect the position that he holds as the head of our country and responsible for making hard decisions which impact us everyday. He is upholding tradition that spans the generations and football players who have been blessed with the opportunty to make millions playing football should be willing to uphold the traditions as well.

Whether you agree with him on the issues, it is an honor to meet with the president and should be treated like one. It isn't like he doesn't have a ton of other things to do. If heads of state and powerful influential people make it a point to accept invitations from perhaps one of the most important persons in the world, who is Harrison to throw the opportunity away.

An idiot or a disrespectful ungrateful American- take your pick.

The president is no more special than any other american in this country . He puts his pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us. Sorry, but I wouldnt bend over backwards to meet him because I won a football game either if I really didnt feel like it. The president is human just like the rest of us regardless of how tough his position is so whats the big deal? I like Obama so maybe I would have made an exception in this case but if it was a president like the last idiot I would have laughed and shrugged it off if anyone thought I was really going to waste my time just to meet him.

That is one of the most ignorant things I have heard in a long time. Of course he is more important than almost anyone in this country. About the only things he shares with you right now is that he puts his pants on one leg at a time.

He makes decisions that impact billions around the world every day. He controls a military that is the envy of the world. When the finance markets of the country he runs, has a hiccup, it is felt in every corner of the world.

He may have been like us before he took on that mantle but once he took office he is bigger than just a man. He is a symbol of freedom and hope for billions and casual words dropped in a conversation have far reaching effects. With a word or gesture he can send millions of men into harm's way. He can change history with the stroke of a pen.

And if you have no respect for our president regardless of political party, then you are an idiot as well.

    • Brian Baldinger on NFL Network (per Tim Weaver on Panthers Wire): "I feel like they're building a monster on that side of the ball right now and I think that's how they have to play," Baldinger stated. "They have to play like they can shut teams down this year. I think it's on them to really guide this team right now." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2026/05/22/panthers-nfl-offseason-defense-brian-baldinger/90215555007/   So, do you believe him? Today, May 25, I do believe Baldy without any evidence otherwise. I think it's much more likely for our defense to take another marked leap (right into the top 10) than our, basically, bottom-third offense. In my mind, Lee Hunter is a literal and figurative huge addition up front, and right behind him is perhaps our biggest exclamation point on defense: Devin Lloyd. Lloyd's experience and track record of solid production should be the anchor of our defense that should help lift the floor of the entire unit. No more getting gashed on runs, eh? But, as important as Lloyd will be, the most prolific addition to the defense could be Jaelen Phillips.  In my opinion, whether or not the Panthers can demonstrably show that the defensive squad, and perhaps the team in general, is actually ready to assert itself as a perennial postseason presence lies within its ability to credibly rush passers. Phillips was paid handsomely to produce results. Now I know that most of you are probably thinking that sacks are the key. Moreover, I'm not one that is even going to tell you that his pressures are the key (you know, since Phillips's pressure rate has been highlighted over perhaps pedestrian sack numbers). The key, at least in my mind, will be the marked growth of Nic Scourton and/or Princely Umanmielen. I really do believe that they are the understated X factors that the "success" of our season may depend upon.  I'm not worried about the interior (perhaps over-optimistically so). I'm also not too concerned with our corners, as they are quietly one of the best duos in the league. Sure, the safety position has more question marks, Trevon Moering is an exclamation point, and Nick Scott, though less of an exclamation point, still has plenty of experience. With the infusion of youth, size, length and energy, I can see a good mix that will result in positives from the DBs once Ejiro Evero figures everything out. And, we should all know, a credible pass rush provides the defensive backfield with opportunities to shine, and this is but another reason why I believe that Scourton and maybe Umanmielen will be key to taking up residence in the postseason. On an off note, and as a reminder, if the defense is doing its job effectively maintaining momentum with field position, if not outright laying down the pathway with short fields and such, this should make it easier for Bryce Young and the offense to effect points on the board in terms of TDs. Where the defense goes, the offense will have every opportunity to follow.
    • Its gonna be loud as hell in Montreal tonight.  But don't make any big turnovers or defensive lapses and I like our chances.
