Really as long as JR is the owner we won't be successful...

LOLOLOLO MJ give advice. Have you looked at the Bobcats lately. You must be joking right. MJ ain't no better of an owner then JR is. Sad to say.

I knew this comment was coming.

Fair enough, the Bobcats have a terrible history.

Not that the panthers have much to crow about either.

My point, based on the title of this thread, was JR needed to back off and let someone better qualified run this team.

I think Marty Hurney has been doing that for the most part, unfortunately, he hasn't been doing a very good job at it. Time for a change.

Glad I was able to give someone a chuckle on an otherwise somber occasion!

I agree on JR stepping aside and letting someone handle who knows what they are doing. Thing is JR has to hire a GM who can do it. So far JR track record of hiring GMs and or HCs ain't good in 17 years. So JR stepping aside ain't going to happen so easy. Fact is JR needs to sale the Panthers to an Owner that is much younger and wants a winning team. That is the best thing for him right now. Even if we got rid of Hurney and Ron and the whole staff this year. The new GM and HC would be stuck with all these big contracts for next few years. We are in contract hell for now.

This, unfortunately.

Never understood those on here that talk about Hurney being a salary cap genius. He seems to be constantly getting us into salary cap hell by overpaying talent. Better managed teams seem to routinely replace similar personnel with lower cost draft picks or free agents.

JR made this NFL team a reality when most said it was impossible, so he has a lot of leeway with me.

I doubt anyone alive wants the Panthers to win more than JR does.

Older people tend to become very dependent on those closest to them.

JR will likely never fire Marty.

Marty has had more than enough time and money to demonstrate what he is capable of.

The results have been far from impressive.

Marty knows all this.

If this team misses the playoffs again this year, Marty should do the honorable thing and resign.

By doing so, he may give someone more capable a chance to give JR something money cant buy, an NFL championship.

I have long defended the BIG CAT but I have to admit I am done with him. He is not commited to winning or providing the Fans a team worth paying the ridiculous ticket prices that we have to pay. As long as he owns this team and keeps Marty Hurney employed we will never have a team that will be a consistant winner. Sorry BIG CAT it is time to hand the keys over to someone who knows how to build a winner......

If JR sold the team after this year to a young guy who wants to win at the end of this year, the team would be in LA by 2014.... Then it would be in Toronto by 2016.

Maybe if Charlotte see we have a new owner and he's attempting to put together a winning franchise, maybe moving won't be in the plans

This is exactly what we need. We need to see a commitment to winning. Not a commitment to pushing their own agenda and philosophy, whether it works or not.
