I think a Thursday Night win could be a franchise turning point

I'm never of the mind set that one game can turn our entire franchise around. However, beating our biggest rivals who have had our number for several years now, and then come right back out and beating the defending superbowl champs on primetime will do wonders for our franchise. The momentum that could be carried away from a win of the Giants could take us really far. We will just have to see if we can carry it through Atlanta or if it stops there. These next couple games can really define our franchise.

what would have been more dangerous an 0-2 Giant team or a 1-1 Giant team,,,

I'm hoping that they see us as a push over game and are relaxing after getting that win against the Bucs. If the Bucs would have won I dont see the Football Gods allowing the Giants to go 0-3.

Exactly why I was glued to the edge of my seat for the end of that game. Facing an 0-2, Coughlin-coached team with that much talent in primetime? That could've been really ugly. Right now, they are a better team than us, them having any type of edge in that game would have been bad for us.

Seriously???? Yesterday was a defining moment?? We designed so many plays for Cam because the Saints running defense is awful and we designed a number of plays to build off what the Redskins did last week with RGIII. We wanted to get back to what we do which is run and use all our weapons. Plus it controls the clock and keeps Brees off the field.

Guess what Einstein, we will do the same thing this week which is to do what we do best and keep Manning off the field as well. We had the third best running attack in the league and got back to it after abandoning it too early in Tampa.

You obviously don't have a clue and your personal attacks are weak as well.

OK so you are saying Newton will have a ton of designed running plays again on thursday night? you dont find that a tad bit risky? Sorry but they are not playing madden this is real football and it is a long season. Lets revisit this thread on Friday morning. Sunday was by far the most run plays they have ever called for Cam. I remember watching games were he ran only 1 or 2 times the whole game. We will run the ball, but it wont be Cam.

I don't know that so much importance should be placed on this game, but it is certainly a chance to showcase Carolina Panther football. I think it could go a long ways in providing momentum for a winning season, which is the first step to the playoffs. I'm just glad there's finally a reason for the Panthers to have a game in primetime.

Rivera has flat out said he plans to run Cam this year...just like he did last season. Cam should get around 7 runs per game....a little more or less will be dictated by how the games unfold.

6 rushes was the smallest number of attempts Cam had in a game in 2011.

You don't have Cam Newton and not run him. It is part of his game. Against NYG you don't won't game sitting in a pocket trying to let a lot develop downfield. DL is too good. They will read option them and try to slow the rush.....and I think his QB scrambles could be higher than his called runs this week. Should be IMO. He needs to take yards given if his throw isn't there.....not hold the ball. Can get away with that against some DLs

The threat of Cam running is what made our running game successful. We have to call running plays for Cam in order for the read option to work. Do I find it risky yes. But Tampa didn't play cam to run, they played to stop the back from running. Watching the NO game they started the same way. However after Cam's runs, especially the long run, the running lanes got huge. The middle of the field opened up, the pass rush slowed down, etc. It's the bread and butter of our offense. As long as Cam does it smart and limits his hits we should be fine.
