Tom Coughlin has harsh words for Greg Schiano

I'm with Schiano all the way. This isn't some getting angry during a blow out and trying to hurt the other team. They had a legitimate chance of winning the game. It may have been a very small chance, but it was there, and it's their job as professionals to take it. Quitting is for losers, and I'm very disappointed that a super bowl winner like Coughlin would endorse that kind of attitude. He of all people should know better, considering how many miserable regular season coaching performances he has saved by fighting to the end.

The giants couldve called a deep bomb to nicks to run up the score or stat pad too you know. That wouldnt be a quitters action now would it. Im just glad no one got hurt during that dumb bone headed move.

Tom Jackson had a very good perspective on this last night saying that how can he say his team finishes every game when they were taking a knee with two minutes on the clock vs Carolina, isn't that quitting? And Dikta said he was completely okay with it but warned him what goes around, comes around.

There is an understanding amongst teams that as long as you don't attempt to advance the ball we won't attack your guys. It's an unwritten rule, a gentlemens agreement between coaches.

To betray that without warning is the act of bitch.

Not disagreeing with you on this because I see both sides of the argument but what I found it humorous that Dan Marino had similar thoughts on the incident of what you said here but is it really much different than this?

Marino made it clear he was spiking the ball, the defense let up and he took advantage. What if the defense had tried to blast through the line and he really was going to spike the ball? Surely people could have gotten hurt.

A spike is different than a kneel.

I haven't seen anyone do it in college football let alone the NFL.

Hah, he did it again. Romo looked like he was having flashbacks of the Seahawks playoff fiasco for a moment there.

Seriously? It must have happened right after I changed the channel. Link didn't work.

    • Miami plays Cleveland and Atlanta has Boston.
    • There is a possibility that however people were measured it differs from what is being done elsewhere.  There were apparently a number of prospects that disagreed with their measurements at the combine... Maybe I just missed it but I'd never heard of this level of it before.
    • https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp Going by this chart that won’t get it done, at all.  both of our 5th rounders are worth 56, total.    The 51st is valued at 390. Moving to 41 takes 100 points. In the second where we are, it is basically 10 points per slot. You can get in front of TB for 60 points. Baltimore at 45.  Which who would do that for 56 points? You are on a wing and a prayer.    To realistically have a good shot at these top guys, outside of Golday, it is gonna take at least 100 points, I am thinking.  And when they go, Golday’s market probably gets a lot hotter.  Just going by the rankings/valuations, I am thinking if you realistically want to assure you get your guy it will take trading back in the first. Which is why I have been saying to do that if we can.  For example 19 is valued at 875. 21 is 800. That, plus one of the 5ths gets you to 100 points which you theoretically could use to get to 41.    I think there are going to be several good options for us at 19, if we are good with taking what is left at 21-23 we can get a good player plus fund a trade up for one of these LBs which is what I am thinking makes sense.
