NFLN's First On The Field Unanimously Pick Taints To Win

Sterling Sharpe, LaDainian, Melissa Stark, aaaand Lombardi all picked the Taints to win.

Additionally, on Gameday Morning, Kurt Warner just said he picked us as his "0-1 team on alert," not because we lost, but because of how we lost last week and mentioned our 13 carries for 10 yards. He then read off our schedule for the next 8 games and said after our heightened expectations coming into this season and our Superbowl claims, if we don't play good football today it could go downhill fast.

I'm not gonna lie, I may be the Obi Wan of overreaction sometimes, but removing emotion from the equation, this is truly a must-win in my opinion. Every week is important every year, but I don't ever remember this much urgency, this early in a season before.

Now this is truly a statement game. If we are to have any semblance of a "successful" season then we need to win this one. It is simply not a good look for us to allow the Saints** to come into our house and punk us after losing the way that we did last week. We appeared flat, lost, and out of sync (if not just plain out of touch) offensively. Either last week will be a much needed wake-up call for a young team to gel, or it will be the harbinger to the fait accompli of a once proud organization has truly lost its identity and way because of obvious mismanagement and trying to do things on the cheap.

As to what Warner said, I agree to an extent. If we come out and play poorly, continue to look unprepared and flat, then yes, I believe that we are in for a rough time this year.

If we lose, but it's a close game and we play well, then there is still hope.

Let's hope we don't have to find out.
