it's true. i'm normally anti-apple but the iphone is the best product they make. people always bring up these new phones by motorolla/samsumg/etc. but they always end up being garbage knockoffs. i have yet to see a phone that deserves to be in the same sentence as the iphone.

I have an HTC Rezound and my wife has a iPhone 4S. There's really no comparison... obviously personal opinion matters, but I've played with both phones and mine dominates the iPhone in literally every way.

...and the Galaxy S III is significantly beyond my Rezound... so...

The iPhone 5, which I have no doubt will be a HUGE seller whenever it comes out, tech wise will not be on par with the GS3 which is already out now.

I'm curious as to whether your opinion is based on actual use of these phones, or if you're just repeating what you've heard?

i have a friend that gets new phones all the time (idk why) and he's always like "check out my samsung galaxy so and so." every time it feels like cheap garbage compared to the iphone.

i've never used the HTC Rezound or the GS3, but i have used similar products made by those same manufacturers and they feel like steaming garbage compared to the iphone.

btw, i'm not talking actual specifications of the phone. i'm talking about ease of use, layout and overall feel of the phone.

ps: i currently use the iphone 3gs and will probably get the iphone 5 unless i'm convinced otherwise

I'm still running on my original Droid Incredible and I'm thinking of making my first iPhone purchase. I really enjoyed my incredible when it first came out, then they stopped updating the OS at gingerbread which has a memory glitch that renders the phone useless at less than 1/4 capacity. I have my upgrade at Verizon so may as well make use of it before I have to hard restart again (yeah I know I could root it).

I get the whole 'there are better phones argument', thats what I said when I first got my Incredible, but Apple still dominates in the accessorieis and apps department, which is actually important to me. Can't tell you how many times I've said "they always get the nice stuff". So yeah, that's probably a stupid reason to a lot of you but not me.

I'm glad to see that OS6 has the new Maps, gps is actually something I use quite regularly on my android and it looks to have an improved interface and graphics. Definatley not done with my research so we'll see how it goes.

Apples apps are wonderful if you buy the new phone every year. Otherwise the iOS updates leave fewer and fewer updates available for your phone.

Granted, I'm running an old jailbroken 3G with iOS 4.2.1. If you had a 3G, any iOS over 4 is murder, jailbroken or not. The phone is damn near unusable now. Now, do I retrograde and get the speed back, or do I leave it as is and actually be able to use apps?

So it has nothing to do with performance capabilities. You just want an easy to use phone. That's what most people want out of a phone, which is why the iPhone sells so well.

As far as performance, the iPhone does not even approach my GS3. It just doesn't. There is literally no argument.

I found my old iphone almost unusable by the time I upgraded. There's nothing you can really do about it as I was using an ancient os version. The ads on a solitaire game I play would take around 20-30 seconds to load and once I got a droid those same ads loaded in milliseconds.

The glitchyness of the android and having to restart it is a pain in the fuging ass. How many times have I had to restart my iphone? Not once. Not a single time, and it is the first phone I have ever owned making it this long without freezing up or clitching out. Limited customizability is a small price to pay for better reliability and a smoother OS, but that in itself is up for debate. The hardware on the android is constantly pushing specs so it has the numbers but cannot make a phone that can actually support it and use it to its fullest. They re all about specs and numbers to sell phones. I am not an apple advocate, I hate their computers but their iphones, ipads and iphones are great.

the "ease of use" is definitely the iphone's biggest asset. i do wish it could do more - such as saving non-picture email attachments. speaking of saving files - why does 16GB of storage cost $100 in apple world? only phone without a microsd slot, for that very reason.

Part of the reason Apple is worth hundreds of billions is because they make good products... The other part is that they game consumers with accessories and higher cost add ons, like extra storage space on the iPhone...

Another "antenna gate" for Apple?

CNET reported earlier today that the iPhone 5 models for both Verizon and Sprint don't support data-use and voice simultaneously while on 4G LTE networks -- meaning that if users make a voice call, they'll also need to be on Wi-Fi to pull data inside their apps, including the Safari Web browser. AT&T apparently doesn't have this same problem.

The difference between the devices on the different networks was not mentioned by Apple yesterday during its unveiling of the new iPhone. This is information likely important to those who might be considering which network provider to choose given the addition of 4G LTE.

According to Verizon and Sprint, it was Apple's decision to not support simultaneous voice and data capability on the new smartphone. Other devices -- such as the Galaxy Nexus 4G on Sprint and the Droid Razr M on Verizon -- provide both voice and data at the same time on 4G LTE.

So what's going on here? It's the iPhone 5's lack of a third antenna, according to the New York Times.
