Cam still struggling with footwork

So this guy chose to use a play were Cam was extremely pressured to demonstrate his footwork.

Yep, I'm sure he watched the game.

Cam completed over 70% of his passes, his footwork is fine.

Yes, it matters just as much in those situations.

Anyone else see number 21 on the defense there? Wanna know what happens if Cam steps into that throw or rotates his hips? What's that? He'll get demolished by a free running 300 lb DT and probably fumble because it's too late to tuck it down? Nonsense.

I'm sorry but of those that actually watched the game, you'd actually see his footwork has greatly improved. He only threw without stepping into throws on plays where a defender was nowhere near the target (see touchdown to lafell). Cam was extremely hesitant to throw when his feet weren't set.

That one play outlined is really the only questionable decision Cam made that game. If the defender wasn't there in his face Cam may have been able to get the ball further to the sideline or overthrow the coverage, or let smith try to make a play on it (just to even bat it down). Also the end result of the play was pretty even. If cam tossed the ball away or took a sack, we would have had to punt anyway. QBs can deal with pressure from the edges by stepping up, but when interior lineman get through that often there is nowhere to go.

I've noticed Cam sometimes throws with just his arm... he's athletic enough to pull it off most of the time (he has a big arm).

imo the problem Sunday wasn't mechanical in any way... he was trying to "force" things and make something happen. He just needs to learn a little more patience in tough situations... he's fine.

Guys with huge arms always revert to poor mechanics when they're trying to make something to happen - especially when they've been pressured throughout the game.

Favre, Vick, Roethlisberger, etc.

Even the ones with incredible mechanics do. We've seen what happens to Brady's mechanics in superbowls vs that giants front 4.
