Mike Minter Considers Running for Congress

Recommended Posts

Holy crap - do you know his platform? You'd really vote for someone not knowing at all what they would stand for? Holy crap.
i take every promise and stance with a grain of salt. i don't believe most politicians.

sure i'd listen to him but it would be like someone in high school running for school president promising days off and more parking. crap is going to happen regardless of who is in there. if someone is going to be in there i hope it's good guys who aren't going to rape my wallet. since there isn't any party with any power that can keep their mitts out of my wallet i just settle for who isn't a dirt bag. that still would disqualify most people who get elected.

I would guess he's running for the GOP since he's Christian, a conservative family man and he's running against a freshman representative. If you support one party that has just won a seat, normally they don't get challeged by members of their own party, at least not this early and openly.

If he stands for the things I stand for (and judging by what he's said over the years in the media, steers me to think he does) I would definitely vote for Minter.

Heck, I don't even live in the same state right now, but Novermber 2010 is a long ways off. Maybe I will, since I'm trying to relocate back to North Carolina.

... what is this world (and board) coming to...

Can't believe he would have the audacity to think about running for congress. Sure, he was pretty good as a football player and then when he retired he's been able to make a pretty good go of it in business. Working hard at what you do, excelling and being active in the community doesnt quailify anyone for political office.

I mean, all he's ever did as a Panther was work hard and become a leader in a locker room full of egotistical, rich and sometimes self serving individuals. OK, so that last part sounds a lot like Washington but even if we consider that, hes probably not that good with the teleprompter so why should he even bother...

Have you ever heard him speak? He's very articulate. He seems very smart otherwise he wouldn't be so successful off the football field.

Regardless of his campaign, I'd say that he would be someone who does what he says he will do (or at least try). From what we've seen of his life, he walks the talk and that's to be commended.
