It's not that we are terrible, I just didn't see any improvements from a 6-10 2011 Panthers....

I don't care, it's 95 yards to a rookie. Thats not what I would expect from my defense. At the end of the day, the stat sheet reflect that the Carolin Defense gave up 95 yards rushing to D. Martin on opening day.

Given our atrocious run d last season that gave up close to 5 ypc i'm happy, also RB is the easiest transition in the NFL.

It was one game Jesus Christ some of you are terrible.

^ I'm glad he's the one I watched today's game with and not the rest of you guys.

As frustrating as it was, we've got to remember that our offense was very different without Stew. They were shutting our running game down as it was, and having one less weapon certainly didn't help things. No reason for panic yet... if next week turns out bad, then we'll talk. But for right now, we've only played one game. There's 15 to go.

Also... the defense has a heck of a lot to be proud of. I thought they did very respectable considering all the questions surrounding them.

Yes our defense was forced to stay on the field too long because our offense was not allowed to sustain drives.

But on the other hand, can I expect our defense to play out of this world the entire game under these conditions, YES! that's their job!!!. Your job expects you to work your but off wether you stayed up late watching the ball game or tied one on, it doesn't matter. I hate excuses! You get what you allow!

Then you're a complete fuging moron with unrealistic expectations.

On the contrary, I don't care if he had like 50 carries, I'd be embarrassed to allow a rookie RB to gain 95 yards against my defense.

I don't care about that at all. They stopped every tampa drive from the second qtr on. In the end, that is all one can expect from a defense. The other team can ram it up the middle all they want if they aren't putting points on the board.

We allowed 16 points, and 3 of those was due to a blocked punt. The defense played well enough to win, the offense and special teams did not.

Our defense held the Bucs in check for the most part. We couldn't capitalize when points were needed and when we had a bad play Cam tried too much and tended to make things worse by forcing plays. He needs to work on that and to shake off the bad decisions.

I gotta admit Tampa's defense played great but I was just not a fan of our play calls.

The inability to disrupt at the line will continue to be a sore spot for us this season. CJ wasn't even looking that great.

Beason, LaFell, Murphy, and Davis were bright, the rest were flat as can be

I'm glad as well bud, we have a lot of games left to play given how bad the Saints* defense was vs the Skins I expect a ton of #28 and Cam having a huge day, It was an opener on the road the Bucs are improved I have not seen one person here acknowledge that!

One game will not decide a season, how many people here know that the 14-2 2003 New England Patriots got beat 31-0 by the buffalo bill in there opener?

My point one game does not have to define a season.

You have the right to be happy about your defense giving up 95 yards on 30+ carries to a rookie RB and I have right to expect more from my defense.

Expectations are funny things.

I would love to know were you got yours because the run defense I saw was greatly improved.
