Kuechly

Yeah, I remember that play. He missed his assignment, and then let the guy carry him a couple of yards down the field. Clearly a loss for Luke.

He is not the only LB that has had a whiff this year though. Every player gets beat from time to time. As an example, on one Tampa TD (don't remember the receiver), it appeared at first glance that Gamble got beat. But after review, it's pretty clear that Beason bit on the play action, and it was actually his man that caught the TD.

Kuechly has made some good plays and he's made some bad ones. So have Beason and Anderson. While I don't remember any from Davis yet, you can be sure he'll get burnt at some point. The difference is, Beason had a pick to end the Saints game, Davis has made some big plays, but really, neither Anderson or Kuechly have one of those signature plays yet. That doesn't mean much as we have a small sample size. If after 8 games, Luke still doesn't have any plays where he really stands out, then yeah, we can start talking about his limitations. But it's just too early.

And as far as the draft pick question as elaborated by First Round Pick, maybe go check out Fletcher Cox's stats in Philly and put them up against Dwan Edwards' stats with us. Sure looks to me like we got better value.

Beason was not at fault for Vjax. That was the safety that bit in zone just like it happened with Graham. You can play in the land of what ifs if you want and I'm happy that we have both Edwards but it still does not discount that Kuechly is not a impact player.

Don't know what game you watched but Beason and Davis were flying around all day. Kuechly has been the slowest learner of all our rookies this year and he was our first pick. No doubt he will get better but it was a bad pick a 8.

I don't think you know what you're talking about.

We had the 9th pick. Not number 8. And at that spot Kuechly was the best defensive player on the board and we had two LBs coming off terrible injuries. Slowest learner? First of all Joe Adams hasn't sniffed the offense because he doesn't know the play book. (several preseason plays he didn't know where to line up and had to be directed by someone). Kuechly was making tons of tackles when he played every snap during preseason because he was apart of the game...now with the Davis being a factor Kuechly has had limited snaps and is asked to take on FBs....

He's a stud. Don't worry about him.

I agree here completely. Also I'm not real sure if you've noticed or not but I do notice that you guys are harping on the whole we should've picked up a big name CB. Turns out that's another guy I've been watching and as skeptical as I was this kid is bringing it. I'm not sure if you remember gambles first year or not but so far this guy is playing well above what he did. Not to mention he hits like a brick house for a guy his size. As of right now he may have been the steal of this draft. Only thing I've really seen so far that bugs me is he's a *** too aggressive at times.

Honestly though the one that worries me the most is silatolu. He looks quite a bit lost out there at times but it helps a lot that he has good veteran help on both sides. However when he does finally figure out his target he usually gets the best of the engagement. Just worries me a bit on pass protection and they overload that side of the line.

I'm not sure if this is just a few people trying to prove a point about draft time debates but yeah.. It's way too early for anything to be said about these guys especially when it's always taken our defense up until mid season to really start hitting on all cylinders. I'm just saying of all our draft picks keuchly is probably the least of my worries out there. The front seven look good and the dbs are looking pretty good as well. Nakumara is the weakest link out there right now.

I'm just pointing out things now because there were some dumb comments made post draft. No one in this thread has said he was a bust or not good but to ignore that he is raw is just stupid. He looks like a rookie just like everyone else. He's no Cam Newton on defense though and definitely not better than Davis.

Davis is a seasoned player who's seen it all.

Kuechly has played 2 games haha

What does this have to do with Adams and Cox was the best player on the board not kuechly.

You said Kuechly was the slowest learner out of our rookies....clearly he is far from it

And Cox rotates on Philly's line....so basically they are in same position.

Kuechly set records in college. Won every defensive award basically...he was BPA at number 9 and we were going defense

I would hate to be a consistently negative about my favorite teams as some of y'all. I'm not saying anybody should be a blind homer, I just don't understand how some people look to find the negative and bitch about everything. If you spend more time being negative about your team than positive, why bother? Sports is reducing the total amount of happiness in your life.

Who's being negative? Some people are pointing out the truth compared to the hypocrisy . No one has said the kid was going to be bad either.
