let the NFL have as many games in Europe as they want!

Traveling across the US from one coast to the other puts a strain on a team. Traveling from Charlotte to London is a 1/3 longer trip than to the West Coast. Having teams in Europe will make that a regular occurrence. Don't really mind pre-season and don't really mind regular as both teams have to make the flight. But do hate the idea of putting teams in Europe. To large a home field advantage, IMO. Yes I do know that half of Europe's game will be away and they have to travel here.

The only way you can really expand the league is if you add 8 teams. That's not going to be easy to do and will set up a scheduling nightmare...

Mintal is right.

they do these games after "bye" weeks so the teams lose out on healing time and planing time.

the logistics are a nightmare, and then the field HAS BEEN Poor. Not to mention lodging, training, facilities, and medical facilities.

I hate the idea.

By the end wasn't NFL Europe nothing but NFL Germany?

no idea... never followed it.

and shipping the team over for a home or away game is bad.. regardless of whether it's home or away.

NFL is going to hurt itself by trying to help itself in this situation.

Pretty much, think the last non German team was the Scottish Claymores, but I beleive they stopped before the final seasons drew in.

My beef with NFL Europe was the way it was implemented. The rosters were almost exclusively NFL camp fodder players and developmental guys, so the players would change season to season and often you would never get the same guy back in Europe. That is not a great way to keep interest high as the only thing to root for is your home team, not falling in love with the way it is played or the characters on the team.

Whilst NFL Europe was great for those fringe players from the USA, it did next to nothing about developing the NFL in other countries and certainly prevented some young guys from Europe from truely making an impact.

All it really was, was a development league for camp fodder, so why not just have that over in the US?

I would much prefer to have our own teams slowly build up and see the sport slowly integrate into the way of life in Europe. It is getting bigger and bigger and contrary to many US posters on here, Europe loves the NFL and have just as many devoted fans. Any game here, be it a regular thing or a one off event will ALWAYS get sold out within minutes. I also feel that a franchise over here would not really work out as essentially it would be an American team, with American players playing in Europe. Seems a triffle backwards to me. Whilst they would make a killing in terms of revnue for that franchise, I think it goes back to stunting the growth of our home players.

There's certainly nothing wrong with the lodging, training and medical facilities. They've all been world class when the NFL teams have flown over to London.

Yep, teams in England, Scotland and Spain all folded. Not sure if the Amsterdam Admirals were still ticking at the end, but certainly Germany remained the focus. I imagine it's because of the number of US military bases in that country.
