Louis Murphy vs Tampa bay DEF

Keep Pounding

Recommended Posts

So I was watching the Cowboys vs Giants game and was impressed with Ogletree vs the Giants #3 and #4 DB's.

So Ive been thinking about this on and off for the last few days. I'm thinking that Schiano will try and contain Steve Smith by rolling coverage towards his way. Either Talib or Barber will be matched up with Smith and Lafell. So that leaves either Biggers or Lewis matched up with Murphy. Now with coverage being rolled towards Smith, Im not to sure if the Bucs DEF will cover Olsen with a LBer or a Safety. What Im getting at, is that Murphy could be matched up against a week DB and could be exploited for big gains. From my understanding, is Chud wants to use more 3WR sets. Forcing opponents to use their nickel formations. To be honest Talib and Barber will have their work cut out for them covering Smith and Lafell, but it will leave Olsen and Murphy with miss matches..... IMO

Since I adopted Murphy and have him on my Huddle FFL, I would like to see him have a break out game like Olgetree did vs the Giants.

What do yall think?

This is what makes our offense hard to defend. First and mosy important, they have to defend the run.

Next, steve.smith.

lefall

Olsen

Murphy.

Someone will always be open, and this doesn't mention cams running ability.

Our offense is a nightmare to defend.

As long as cam keeps his head, mentally in the game, our.offense will dominate.

I think Ronde is starting at safety. Unless I just read it wrong earlier.

Your right, I forgot about that. And they picked up Eric Wright that was on DET last year. I just read an article and it said they will use 3 safeties and 3 corners with Barber playing at the LOS and covering the slot as needed.

Well that throws my theory out the window, kind of.

Defenses focusing on Smitty will no longer shut this offense down for free. Whoever steps up will be fine with me. Hell, it could still be Smitty. We can punish them for focusing only on Smitty, and then when they let up on Smitty, we can go back to him. It's fun having an offense that isn't one-dimensional.

The Bucs really have improved a lot personnel wise. I'm a bit nervous.

I agree, Im a little more worried about their offense than their DEF. But them picking Barron was like oh FUG..... Talib is good, but I dont think Wright is that good though. And their D Line might be damn good if they can stay healthy.

    • I see 4 winnable games on our schedule left. If we win two of them and Bryce continues his progress, this season is a success.  low expectations? Sure. But I think we’d have enough information to know Bryce is our starting qb next year and we can enter the draft with a high pick knowing what we need to improve.
    • Some of us may forget when Drew Brees “wasn’t” the great QB we faced in New Orleans. Prior to his HOF career, he was an afterthought in Dan Diego that was particularly liked by his coach Marty Schottenheimer.  But we all see how that turned out.  Bryce may never be the 2nd coming of Brees but let’s give him and the staff time to help him reach his potential.
    • Here’s another that we fans should keep in mind: Sometimes greatness takes time. Mahomes had the benefit of sitting a season behind Alex Smith after the Chiefs traded up to take him with the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Young, last year’s top pick, started 16 games as a rookie, going 2-14, absorbing 62 sacks and posting the league’s worst passer rating.
