Football Gameplan's 2012 Panthers vs Bucs Video Preview

Cam has actually been mentioned as a possible MVP candidate and his is after a rookie season with incredibly difficult odds. Freeman has talent, but you may the only non Tampa fan who holds that opinion.

Panther's may have the best LB corps in the league...there may be two or three teams tops that have their talent, but not depth.

I respect your opinion, but I just feel this is ill informed. I see WR as a push, they have a better secondary and DL was a push until we signed D Edwards and injury got the best of the Bucs.

Emory I really like your work and you generally do your homework and provide really detailed analysis on teams but this is not one of your better videos. Presentation is a little sloppy and you kind of even go against some of the points you outlined in the panthers team preview video you made this summer (which I thoroughly enjoyed).

Even if the Bucs have more talent than people realize at linebacking I can't fathom it stacks up to our LB corps. Beason is a top 5 LB when healthy, anderson is solid as a rock, davis was a pro bowler pre injury and is our backup, and kuechly is every bit as good as advertised. Even after only a few quarters of preseason play and practices there is a good share of fans on here that believe he's already the best linebacker on the team (some even say he's the best player on our defense).

Video wasnt that bad but was filled with contradictions. The postional breakdown shows you think then bucs have more talent, then you immediately pick us to win with no score. Also their was no mention what so ever about Tampa having a new coaching regime.... That is so important and people always underestimate its importance. For Tampa i see alot of false starts, 12 men on field, player lined up wrong, defense missing pickups etc. It takes two years to fully inact a new coaches scheme. This will lead to big plays for the panthers.

Peter King's week 1 predictions:

"Cam II. What can Cam Newton do for an encore? We'll find out in the stifling humidity of Tampa in a late start Sunday. I keep hearing offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinki has some interesting stuff up his sleeve for Year 2 of the Newton era in Charlotte, and maybe we'll see some of that on Sunday."

Interesting stuff up his sleeve? What else could Chud come up with that we didn't see last season? Oh Wee Mayne.

No, it is not....

The OP is trying to basically say that your LB corp is injury prone and he likes the potential of the Bucs corp......

You Panther fans are closed minded...

Closed minded? How do you figure? Most talking heads will say the Panthers LB Corps is one of best in the league. There can be a strong argument that this is our strongest unit.

Because some guy post that you are equal and most here argue it. The argument is valid. Closed minded is a bad term because you even agree that we are better.

What surprises me is not many argue about Offensive Line. You lost Joseph. That alone puts your O-Line Inferior to ours. With or without the rookie guard our O-Line is one of the best. Period

Beason is fully healed if you don't believe it.. (SOME POST THAT VIDEO OF THE BEAST IN APRIL)

Beason, Kuechly and Anderson are going to make that TB running game very ineffective. We are going to put the ball in Freeman's hands and he'll crack and we'll get a couple of turnover.

One thing i notice about the Football Czar's vids (which I appreciate) is that the analysis doesn't always add up to the pick. In this analysis (especially looking at the position ratings) I would expect him to pick TB. I agree with your ratings/comparisons except for QB and LB (as other have mentioned). I think QB is closer than others on this forum. Freeman can be a very good QB (although he's really only had that one good year, but he doesn't have that extra dimension that Cam brings in terms of being an explosive runner (Freeman might be a better pocket passer, but its close). I understand a slight downgrade for our LBs because they haven't played all together yet this season (Beason's been off the field), but talent-wise and factoring Kuechly's mad skills against the rush and TDs speed, I htink the clear advantage lies with the Panthers.

The one aspect of this game that worries me is special teams. The Bucs are always competent...the Panthers often are not. Let's hope our weaknesses don't become our undoing in this game.

I respect everyone's opinion, but to say the QBs are a wash?

So you are saying Freeman is just as good as Cam?

Really?

If so, this will be the first and last video of the "Czar" I will watch.

Not one Panther fan would trade Cam for Freeman, and not one Buc fan would not trade Freeman for Cam.

Please tell me and everyone else WHY you think the "QBs are a wash".

probably in terms of how they will effect the game within their teams. Maybe he means it in the sense that if both QBs traded places the the outcome would not have a great chance of being that much more different.

    • And we just started playing competitive football. Now look we beat a decent team. We can celebrate winning, it will be ok…
    • It doesn't matter if you give him a new WR1. To do it you have to devoted MORE resources to him. At some point you have to stop or there's nothing left for the defense. Our defense looks like scrubs because that's what we've got because we've spent a shitload on offense. He got a 1st round WR and a shiny new RB in round 2.  Bryce had a couple of good games but we are not competing against the Chiefs or Eagles. They're headed to the playoffs with realistic SB aspirations and we're headed to a top 10 pick. Those teams have competed for an entire season where the Panthers have ummm... They've almost gotten to as many wins as Matt Rhule in a season.  Would you rather have Bryce or Lamar? Because we've spent more on Bryce and to build around him than what it would have cost to trade for Lamar.  This team can't get better when it's having to devote everything to making it possible for our #1 QB god to play average NFL football.  I may end up being wrong and Bryce may become the GOAT. But one thing you won't see me doing is flip flopping on where I stand every couple of weeks because he has good or bad games. I think Bryce is our version of Daniel Jones and I think we're going to fug ourselves pretending he's Pat Mahomes.
