I couldn't disagree more, with a -2,5 line Vegas seems to be begging people to bet the Panthers if you ask me. They certainly aren't trying to influence fan bases because they don't represent a significant % of any betting total.

Really seems like a trap game and if it is, then shame on me because I am taking the Panthers to cover.

How does the "money line" work? That basically means you take the underdog to win straight up right? and by doing this you avoid "paying the Jew"? Do you also get odds with the money line? I'm always confused by the betting lingo on the radio.

Money line bets are just bets on either team to win straight up. You win more if you pick the underdog, you win less if you pick the favorite. For example the current money lines are Carolina (-135) and Tampa (+115). That means you'd have to bet 135 to win 100 on the Panthers winning straight up, while betting 100 would win you 115 betting Tampa to win straight up. Obviously you don't have to bet 100 but you would just adjust the ratio for the size of the bet.

You still have to pay a vig with these bets as well.

I've always heard this refered to as......"paying the juice".
