Are you sure? If I remember correctly, Davis was drafted as a Safety to play LB the year after Spoon left. Anderson was a third rounder, I think? I wouldn't consider that as replacing Spoon.

Witherspoon was a third-round pick... just sayin'.

Jovan Haye DT ended up starting for bucs and played well against us.

Tony Brown and Jovan Hayte off the top of my head. Both went elsewhere and contributed much more than they did here.

Evan Mathis, pro-bowl guard.

John Kasay, tony brown, jarrett bush,

Evan Mathis would complete our line right now. Wish we had him over hangman.

tony brown, jarret bush, rashard butler?

Tony brown, the guy was a beast all through training camp and preseason and then he goes to the titans and starts for a long time on a pretty good defense

You guys named a bunch of players that would have never contributed to the roster they were cut from. Yes some of these guys bounced from a few teams and put together a few good seasons collectvely, but we can't just stash players on our roster for years at a time until we have an acutal use for them and hope they have developed by then.

Hell we could have had 90% of the players just by picking them up off waivers or signing them after being cut by other teams.

Javon Haye Wiki http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Jovan_Haye

"Carolina Panthers

Haye was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He only played two games for the Panthers and was cut on September 2, 2006.

[edit] Cleveland Browns

Haye was signed by the Cleveland Browns on September 3, 2006. On September 12, 2006 he was released, but was signed to Browns practice squad on September 14, 2006.

[edit] Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Haye was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 25, 2006. In his first season with the Bucs he played in nine games and recorded 17 tackles. In 2007 he became a full-time starter for the Bucs, starting all 16 games. He finished the season with 68 tackles and six sacks. In 2008 he started 14 of 15 games, recording 33 tackles and no sacks.

[edit] Tennessee Titans

On March 2, 2009, Haye agreed to a four-year, $16 million contract with the Tennessee Titans. He was waived on August 29, 2011.

[edit] Detroit Lions

On December 9, 2011 Haye signed with the Detroit Lions. Four days later, On December 13, 2011 He was released by the Detroit Lions.[1]

[edit] Second Stint with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Haye resigned with the Buccaneers on December 19, 2011"

So Haye had 1 good year as a starter but he was not going to unseat Kris Jenkins and do that here

Tony Brown

So Brown developed some consistency with the Titans. His numbers are no better than what Neblett put in half the snaps last year or Damione Lewis or Kris Jenkins did when we cut him in favor of them

Evan Mathis

http://en.wikipedia....iki/Evan_Mathis

"Carolina Panthers (20052007)

So Mathis goes and spends 3 years with the bengals and does essentially nothing. & starts over 3 years. Meanwhile we had Wharton, then he finally has a hell of a year in 2011. He was available at this point so we could have had him. Now we Amini who I would say looks likes he off to a much better career start than Mathis.

I never said a Third rounder is not special.

I'm just saying if I remember correctly, Davis was drafted in 05' to try replacing Spoon while Anderson was a third rounder in 06'. I dnt think a player in 06' is drafted to try replacing a player that left a year before. Anderson can be viewed as a diamond in the rough. No one knew he was going to be playin like this.

Your f**king question was who did we cut that did good elsewhere and they answered your question.

Mathis would be starting RG because Hangartner sucks. Jarrett Bush would still be on the roster, Captain also may not have been drafted. Tony Brown and Jovan Haye would've helped us out tremendously from the time they were cut to 2009 or 2010.

Most of those guys were victims of Fox favoritism. It's just showing you that we couldn't evaluate talent during his time.

If you're asking what player has come back to dominate us, well how many players can you name that other teams cut where that player has come back to dominate them? You probably won't find that many.

Cut players can still be solid. Teams rarely cut dominate players.

Looks like any player someone names now you will automatically dismiss.

All I am saying is as you well know you keep 53 players on a roster. You can't hold onto everyone you drafted or signed as an undrafted free agent and hope they will make an impact someday. None of these players would have contributed to the roster they were cut from, none of them!! So while Mcclain may go and do something later in his career, he was as of no help to this team.

And your right about Mathis 6 years fuging later he would be an upgrade over Hangartner, but did you really think it would be worth wasting a roster spot on him for the previous 5 years hoping and praying he'd become what he was last year.btw we could have signed him over Hangartner last year before he had his breakout season as we has an unrestricted free agent if the team wanted to.

Oh and you think Haye and Brown would have been a big help when we had Jenkins, Damione Lewis taking snaps ahead of them at 3-tech?

And no where did I ask if any of them dominated us. I made the thread to emphasize the point that there was no reason for soo many to get riled up over Mcclain being cut.

You fail to realise it has nothing to do with holding on to them and hoping they are good. They already had the talent, but Fox favortism didn't let their talent be shown and so they were cut. Mathis would've helped us even before this year btw, not 6 years later. As far as Brown and Haye, there's this term called depth you might have heard of.

How can you say for sure Mathis would have helped before last year? What did he do before last year that warrant's such a statement?? He could not even get 1 start on the Bengals team in 2010, that same team could not wait to pounce on Wharton this year.

In addition if Fox could not develop them, then you do realize they were no help to this team for as long as he was the coach right? We cut them in 06,Fox left after 2010, so the earliest they could have helped us was 2011. And guess what Brown was not even in the leauge after 2010 and Haye did nothing and is promptly out of the leauge himself.
