Can anyone name a player we cut in the last 10 years that came back to haunt us? Has there ever been a time where history has proven we cut the wrong guy in the last 10 years? Can you think of any players that went on to have a successful career after being cut by us in the last 10 years?

Once you get done with your google searches and come to realize its never happened can you please explain the uproar over Mcclain?

EDIT just so nobody misses it:

Jovan Haye DT ended up starting for bucs and played well against us.

Tony Brown and Jovan Hayte off the top of my head. Both went elsewhere and contributed much more than they did here.

Evan Mathis, pro-bowl guard.

John Kasay, tony brown, jarrett bush,

Evan Mathis would complete our line right now. Wish we had him over hangman.

tony brown, jarret bush, rashard butler?

Tony brown, the guy was a beast all through training camp and preseason and then he goes to the titans and starts for a long time on a pretty good defense

You guys named a bunch of players that would have never contributed to the roster they were cut from. Yes some of these guys bounced from a few teams and put together a few good seasons collectvely, but we can't just stash players on our roster for years at a time until we have an acutal use for them and hope they have developed by then.

Hell we could have had 90% of the players just by picking them up off waivers or signing them after being cut by other teams.

Javon Haye Wiki http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Jovan_Haye

"Carolina Panthers

Haye was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He only played two games for the Panthers and was cut on September 2, 2006.

[edit] Cleveland Browns

Haye was signed by the Cleveland Browns on September 3, 2006. On September 12, 2006 he was released, but was signed to Browns practice squad on September 14, 2006.

[edit] Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Haye was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 25, 2006. In his first season with the Bucs he played in nine games and recorded 17 tackles. In 2007 he became a full-time starter for the Bucs, starting all 16 games. He finished the season with 68 tackles and six sacks. In 2008 he started 14 of 15 games, recording 33 tackles and no sacks.

[edit] Tennessee Titans

On March 2, 2009, Haye agreed to a four-year, $16 million contract with the Tennessee Titans. He was waived on August 29, 2011.

[edit] Detroit Lions

On December 9, 2011 Haye signed with the Detroit Lions. Four days later, On December 13, 2011 He was released by the Detroit Lions.[1]

[edit] Second Stint with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Haye resigned with the Buccaneers on December 19, 2011"

So Haye had 1 good year as a starter but he was not going to unseat Kris Jenkins and do that here

Tony Brown

"

So Brown developed some consistency with the Titans. His numbers are no better than what Neblett put in half the snaps last year or Damione Lewis or Kris Jenkins did when we cut him in favor of them

Evan Mathis

http://en.wikipedia....iki/Evan_Mathis

"Carolina Panthers (20052007)

So Mathis goes and spends 3 years with the bengals and does essentially nothing and has 7 starts over 3 years. Meanwhile we had Wharton, then he finally has a hell of a year in 2011. He was available at this point so we could have had him. Now we Amini who I would say looks likes he off to a much better career start than Mathis.
