Who's more likely to slump?

Which is more likely to be hit by the "sophomore slump," Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco?

Personally, I think it could be Ryan. He's got a tough schedule coming up and that could affect his stats.

I agree with you. Joe "Cool" has a great defense to fall back on. So in alot of games he will only have to get 21 points to put it away.

Roddy White, Tony G...I think Flacco slumps. In fact I wasn't even that impressed with him last year. He didn't lose any games but he certainly didn't win any either. Not sure the same could be said for Ryan.

These are the same reasons I think Ryan will slump and Flacco wont. Ryan has a whole lot more expected of him. He's suppose to go out and win games, not just control the game. So if Ryan doesn't go out and win games by himself it will be perceived as slumping. Flacco will be expected to manage the game just like last year, but no one's looking for him to be the next Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.

Flacco's having to face the best defense in the free world twice a year sure won't help him. It also remains to be seen what the effect is on the Ravens' defense of losing Rex Ryan. Matt Ryan has more weapons on O, but they both have good OCs. I think the Falcons' D will be better this year. I say Flacco struggles more.

matt ryan has a beastly running game with nice recievers but flacco has beastly defense that generates a short field with a lot of TOs.

It's hard to say but I'll choose ryan.

And I pray he has a slump because I'd rather our schedule not get any harder

I say Ryan...and here is why.

Flacco's numbers were not great in 2008. Teh Ravens do not rely on the passing game....run oriented with a GREAT defense.

Ryan will once again have to carry the Falcons.

Flacco will make some reasonable progress. Ryan I don't see much room for improvement there, he didn't really play like a rookie. I think he plays about the same level and his numbers improve slightly with the addition of Gonzalez.

I can accept the fact we hope Ryan slumps big time but hoping and the reality of the situation are two different things
